Lamia. A beautiful woman. At least her upper body. From the waist down she has the body of a snake. She used to rule over Libya. She was so beautiful she got the attention from Zeus. He gave her the ability to pull her eyes out and put them back in whenever she liked. She also give birth to several children from Zeus. Hera the wife/sister of Zeus got so angry she killed all kids (except Scylla who she transformed in a huge six headed monster with the body of a huge ten legged dog that grabbed sailors from ships who came to near her). Lamia wanted revenge and decided to harm other woman in the same way. She stole children out of their cribs and devoured them. Her name Lamia comes from the Greek word: "lamyros" what means gluttony. She also sucked the life force out of men she seduced.
Perhaps a famous one. The werewolf.
The werewolf is know over the entire world but the first werewolf came Greece. King Lycaeon was a king who was horrible for his people and ate so much himself he looked like a fat pig. Zeus thought this was so terrible he went down to earth. There he told who he was. But Lycaeon did't believed him and laughed at him. He said that if you're a god I'm king of the wolves. To see if Zeus really was a god he killed his own seven year old son, cooked him and served him to Zeus. When Zeus found out he became so angry he turned Lycaeon in a wolf. A wolf who devoured every living thing he encountered. A blood thirst that kept going on forever. But who knows. He might have some offspring.
