Ryan pointed the remote at himself and his mother. A flash shot out from the device, temporarily blinding Ryan and causing him to mistakenly point the remote at his mother and the window and swap her with someone outside. When he regained his sight, he saw his mother without drastic changes.
"Something wrong, hon?" Susan looked at her son.
Ryan didn't see any difference. "Ermm, nothing,"
"Alright, I'm leaving."
Ryan examined the remote control in his hand. "Well, I was a dimwit for believing this." He assumed the remote in his palm was nothing more than a toy.
Ryan had no idea that the remote had swapped his mother and Deborah's personalities, who was driving by. Ryan was unaware of the change because he didn't know Deborah well and had only met her a few times at Jake's place. After all, Deborah didn't have any weird quirks or a flashy personality.
