Ashley woke up feeling very relaxed. As sunlight flitted into her room between the blinds, she yawned and stretched, then turned over and pulled the covers up higher. It was the weekend so there wasn't any reason she couldn't stay in bed a little longer. After a bit of time spent scrolling through her social media feeds, Ashley finally got bored enough to get up.
After getting out of bed, she had a nice relaxing shower, then got dressed. Since it was a warm late spring day, she slipped on a comfy pink cami top that nicely showed off her body, a short light blue denim skirt, and her favorite pink flip-flops. She then took her time applying her makeup before finally heading downstairs to have some breakfast.
Ashley took her time eating while texting with some of her friends. When she eventually finished and was about to leave the room, her mother walked in. "A package for you came in the mail," she said. "I put it on the counter."
"Cool," Ashley said as her mother left. She didn't remember ordering anything, but who was she to say no to the possibility of free stuff?
Ashley walked over, grabbed the package, and brought it up to her room feeling very curious. "What do we have here?" she said to herself as she set it down on her bed. Ashley opened up the package to find a box labeled 'The Swaptacular Remote' along with some sort of note. She put the box aside for the moment and read over the note.
Hello, Ashley Martin,
You have been selected as a beta tester for Blarg Industries' newest creation, The Swaptacular Remote. This remote, which we have included in this package, is capable of altering reality in several ways, allowing you to swap bodies, personalities, and more with other people. The remote is yours to play around with. All that we ask in return is for you to provide feedback on how we might improve it at the end of the trial period. "Body swapping? As if," Ashley scoffed as she set the letter down. She wondered if her dumb brother Ryan or someone else was trying to play some kind of stupid prank on her. Opening the box, Ashley removed an instruction manual and something that looked like some kind of TV remote. She picked up the manual and began flipping through it next. After reading through the things this remote could supposedly do, Ashley thought it was total crap. "This seems like complete bullshit," she said to herself. But she had to admit this seemed too complicated to be some mere prank and the remote did look quite advanced...
"Then again, I suppose it can't hurt to try," she decided. Ashley found herself getting excited as she thought of what this remote could do for her if it was actually real. Determined to find out, she headed back downstairs to test it out.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
