Bridget takes you to her 'perfect place'

"This is your 'perfect place'?" you said incredulously.

The two of you were standing in a '50s-style American diner, complete with vinyl seats, checkerboard tiles, chromed stools, and gratuitous neon signage. The wait staff were all dressed in neat uniforms straight out of Back to the Future, and there was even a retro jukebox in the corner (though the soundtrack was rather modern).

"I'm in a mood," Bridget answered. She grabbed a menu from the front and slid into a booth. You followed suit.

A few minutes later, a server was by to take your orders. You weren't all that hungry, so you settled for an order of fries and a shake.

"And for you?" the server asked Bridget, who was still carefully perusing the menu.

"I'll have two double-cheeseburgers, two large fries, and a chocolate shake."

The server jotted this down and confirmed the orders with you and Bridget.

"They'll be out in just a bit." And with that, they left.

"You're hungrier than I thought," you said. Even after working with her for almost a month now, and especially after this morning, Bridget's appetite still managed to surprise you with its seeming insatiability.

"Well, meeting Betty put some things in perspective," Bridget said. She began to stroke her belly with her hand. "If Betty went from rail thin to bigger than me in three months, then we're going to have to step up our game."
