"I wish I could take over Maggie whenever Tim isn't staying with me," Emily thought. She didn't want to totally lose her mother-son relationship, but at least for now, she could get to know Tim better as his girlfriend. Upon her wish, she was transported into the real Maggie's body. She had access to her memories and behavior, but she had most of the control. And when she left Maggie's body, Maggie would remember everything that she had done as though it were her own memories.
"So," Maggie's mom started, "how was school today."
You started to respond in detail, but instead just said, "Good," something much more in Maggie's character.
"And volleyball practice?"
"Good. I played well."
"You and Tim?"
"Good."
Emily kind of wanted to say more and have a better conversation because she knew how being on the other side of this conversation felt, but she just didn't feel like sharing more about her day with her mom, who would only ask questions.
