Josh joins the football team

    by: Moe Author IconMail Icon
Josh decided to be at two places at once. He still wanted to look after Earl too. He also did sense that Erin, a nearby classmate of Earl, could be a good friend of Earl. He can meet with Erin ( in his younger self) and get her be better friends. Her martial arts were fair for someone her age. But Josh did not want to worry Erin yet.

But now Josh made another version of him, one who is a Junior in High School that was just transferred there two weeks ago. Josh decided to give his older self a different first name.- Amos. Josh felt that having two Josh might be suspicious. But he decided that Amos's middle name would be Josh.

Amos entered the practice field after meeting with the Coach in his office. Coach Hanes was impressed with Amos. Hanes was reading the report from the other school. Hanes was saying ' So I noticed that you played backup guard in your first two year at Andrew Jackson High School in Tennessee.

Amos Josh replied " Yes Sir! "

The coach continued 'And your grades are good too.. 3.4 GPA, Great! And you find time to volunteer at a local food bank in the summer.'

Josh nodded.

The coach also said ' Let now do some drills here with my assistant coach. Fortunately your last High School coach had similar strategies like me in training the Offense Line. We really need help on the Left Guard position. Our former starting Left Guard had to be let go from the team...personal problems with the team. Our backup James Baccus is okay but need work on getting a little bit stronger. But he is a good kid'

Josh went through the drills and impressed the coach. Josh was at near the ultimate size and height for a Left Guard. But Josh did not want to outshine Sam the Center. Coach Hanes was impressed with Amos Josh's skills. Soon he handed Amos the playbook and told him to study it. because there is a chance that he might play in the next game when the backup need to rest. He continued ' I just need to file the proper paperwork so you, Amos, can be on our team. Welcome to our team.'

Then the coach saw Sam running the track. The coach blew his whistle and said to Sam ' Hey,Sam, stop running for now. You need the rest.' So Sam stopped running and trotted up to the Coach.

The Coach said ' Let me introduce you to Amos. He just joined our team. He is going to be playing Left Guard.

Sam and Amos Josh shook hands. Before the coach left, the coach said ' By the way, Sam, thank you for defending Earl yesterday. Don't worry, I do not consider that to be fighting. I saw it on YouTube. There was an unfair edited version of it too but I think that nobody believed the edited version. Congrats again, Sam. Please work together, Sam. Be sure the team will accept Amos.' Then the coach left to file his paperwork.

Sam smiled ' I do not know how the coach know about Earl so quickly on YouTube..the true version. But welcome to our team. Is there something in the playbook too hard to understand right now. I could help you on that.'

Amos Josh smiled ' It is a bit early to know that now but I still could use the practice.' Sam smiled ' Looks like you are in great shape. My neck is okay now. The doctor cleared it. I am eager to play hopefully for this game. Let's start practicing.'
