This choice: A knight approaches to rescue him • Go Back... "End game! Log out!" Michael shouted. "Pause?"
Clearly, voice commands weren't working. He struggled against the bonds keeping him attached to the post, but that too, was futile. Michael sighed as he tried to think of a way out of it. It wasn't easy, given that he had never been on the receiving end of this scenario, he'd always been the gallant knight who saved the princess.
"Okay, let's see what I'm working with..." Michael muttered as he looked around the room that he was in.
From the walls he could tell that it was made of stone, so probably a castle. Not a dungeon because a high window with bars on it had sunlight coming through. Other than that, the room was sparse, some chains on the wall for other prisoners, and a single, likely locked door. Not much to go off of, but surely there was a way out. After some continued struggling, Michael's attempts were interrupted by the sound of a commotion from outside the room.
Michael strained to try to listen, but all he heard was muffled sounds and banging until the door burst open and a young man in armor with a square jaw and broad shoulders rushed into the room with his sword held aloft.
"There you are!" he exclaimed, rushing over to the post. "Just give me a moment."
The knight took out a dagger and sliced the ropes, allowing Michael to free himself and rub his wrists. The knight held out his hand to help Michael stand, which he took, realizing that in addition to the dress, he was also wearing heels. As he took a few hesitant steps, the knight rushed back to the door and checked the corridor.
"We should get moving." the knight said. "Come along, fair maiden."
Michael minced across the room towards the the knight, who stepped out into the corridor, before motioning for Michael to follow.
"Are you..." Michael started as he stepped into the corridor, seeing many unconscious or dead bodies littering it.
"Here to rescue you? Yes, m'lady." the knight said.
"No that's not what I..." Michael started, but was stopped when an arrow embedded itself into the wall not two inches from his head.
"We must retreat at once, Princess!" the knight grabbed his hand and pulled Michael down the corridor as other armored beings rushed in from the other side.
