The huge foot on top of Ash was still for a moment. He didn't know if she had felt him or not but he was hopeful. He heard laces being untied. a moment later the foot lifted off him and was pulled out of the shoe.
'Yes! She felt me!'
Things were quiet for a moment or two. Then the shoe was lifted into the air. It was tipped on a sharp angle and Ash found myself sliding towards the heel of the shoe where a huge hand was waiting to catch him.

Francine felt something moving under the toes of her right foot.
'Probably a bug,’ she thought as she began to untie her shoe. 'Oh well, can't leave it in there.'
She checked the bottom of her foot and didn't find anything so she picked up her shoe and dumped out whatever was in it into her hand. At first nothing came out, but then something small landed in her palm.

Lying almost in the centre of her palm Ash stared up at his captor. He was brought closer to her face, her breath blowing down on him. At least it was fresh, would’ve been bad if it had the smell of spoiled milk or something. But her breath was the least of his worries, he was in the hand of a gigantic anthropomorphic eight year old and Ash had no Idea what she was going to do.
Looked up into her face, her look told Ash she wasn't sure what he was; at least she didn't appear to be frightened or angry.
