“I think I’ll stay here if it’s all the same with you.” Ash told her. “Seeing one giant has been nerve-wracking. I’m not ready to meet a whole family of them. Is there someplace you can put me where that’s out of the way?”
He felt her head turn “I can put you up on the shelf. You should be alright there until I come back.”
Her hand came back to her ear. Climbing into it Ash was carried up to the first level of shelving that was above her desk. A moment later he climbed over the tip of Francine’s tilted hand and onto the shelf.
“I’ll be back in a while. There should be enough places to hide if anyone comes in here”
“Hide? Whom should I be hiding from?” Ash called up, unfortunately he was out of her hearing range and she was already out the door, closing it behind her.
"Who would’ve thought my day was going to turn out like this".
This was so surreal; standing on that shelf was almost like standing on top of a skyscraper. The Scale was absolutely incredible, and this was just one room. What was the rest of this world like? Ash noticed there were two beds in the room, if he remembered the cartoon correctly and if this reality followed any continuity of the cartoon, Francine had an older sister named Catherine. He couldn’t recall her age but did remember she stood a good two feet taller than Francine.
Ash felt a vibration. Someone was coming but the tremors were different this time. Whoever was making them was bigger than Francine. He may have jinxed himself thinking about her sister, she was probably coming back here.
‘I suppose I should hide’ he thought. But wasn’t necessary? From the scale of everything he could be right out in the open and wouldn't be noticed. And at this height he had no worries of being stepped on.
