Chapter #8Rainbow Dash... the dangerous bandit? by: Unknown The rainbow-haired mare intrigued you. A 500 Bit reward? One simple adventure, and you could solve your cash problems for a long time. Tempted, you consider your options. She was apparently last seen near the Arimaspi Territory, in the distant south, which sure sounded dangerous, and she certainly looked intimidating. But for some reason, you weren’t concerned. If one thing has been consistent in your travels across Equestrian, you’ve always inevitably run into trouble. Why wait for it to find you?
You spent what little remained of your bits on supplies, some clothes, and a train ticket. That afternoon, you were riding a quaint little train a hundred miles south, past the mountains, while counting up your supplies and trying to determine how long they’d last you. As far as you could tell, you had to wrap this little expedition up in less than two weeks. After determining that, you simply stared at your window and admired the countryside rolling by. By the time the train stopped anywhere near your destination, it was already well into the evening… and you still had a lot of traveling to do. Slinging your pack of supplies over your shoulder, you take the rest of the journey on foot. Tonight, you decided, you would find a place to set up camp first, and start searching for your bounty target in the morning.
You march through the dense, arduous forest environment, and thank your lucky stars that you had managed to buy some comfortable clothing in town. You could see why the bandit mare would be hiding out here - this place was seemingly empty of life. The dry, skeletal trees swayed in the moonlight, like long fingers reaching up towards the sky. The shrubbery was so dense, you struggled to find a clearing to settle down in. After traveling aimlessly through the darkened woods, you saw an even more ominous sight - a single cabin in the distance, far from civilization. Your immediately immediately assumed that this might be the house of the bandit mare, but, taking a cautious peek through a window, you confirm that it was empty. In fact, it looked like nobody had visited the place in years. You were ecstatic. It was the perfect place to settle down.
You lay out your gear, and take a look around the cabin. It had one bedroom, one restroom, and a small living room consisting of nothing more than a couch, a table, and a window. It was so small, you wonder how anyone couldn’t stood to live in this place long term. There was no electricity, but you did find a generator, so you could probably get lights as well if you could find fuel for it. As you settled down for the night on the couch, munching on one of the sandwiches you brought with you, you heard cracking noises coming from deeper in the woods. Gun shots! That must be the bandit! In your excitement, you had almost forgotten how perilous this area was.
You step towards the door frame, straining your ears. It sounded as if the bandit was having a firefight of some sort. You weren’t prepared to go after her tonight, but this may be your chance to arrest her while she’s distracted. Then again, you might get shot.
