You stand there at the door, hesitating, before throwing your doubts aside, grabbing some tools, and rushing into the forest.
Immediately upon emerging onto the path, a mare, who you recognized as the bandit you were looking for, appeared before you, limping. Her coat was light blue, and her mane, you immediately noticed, was all the colors of the rainbow. She wore a brown leather vest with a white undershirt, and jeans. You immediately braced yourself to battle the bandit, but you were disarmed when you saw the look on her face - panicked and desperate. She was gripping at her stomach, and you realized that she had taken a bullet wound to the gut. The last of her strength was fading, as her wound had weakened her, and she obviously didn’t have the energy to run anymore. In her desperation, she looked up at you and issued one last plea, “Help,” before collapsing unconscious onto the dirt. Before you could respond to this, you saw figures running towards you in the distance, and you instinctively grabbed the mare and hid the both of you in the bushes, perhaps despite your best judgement. Once you were completely hidden, you peer out cautiously at the ponies that had been attacking her.
A group of intimidating-looking bounty hunters crossed the path in front of you, wielding primitive flintlock rifles or magic spells. You held your breath, trying not to attract the attention of the band as they crossed by. Following behind them was an older stallion with a slick grey coat, that appeared to be leading them. “You can’t hide forever, Rainbow Dash!” He called into the forest, taunting as he searched for the mare. “It’s over! Just come out with your hands up. It will make things easier for the both of us…”
Once the band had passed, you finally had time to take stock of the situation. You stared at the unconscious mare- ‘Rainbow Dash’, apparently. She didn’t look like a criminal. In fact, those bounty hunters look a lot more evil than she did. But you couldn’t be sure, could you? Either way, you pick her up in your arms (since she was a pegasus, she was relatively light), and carry her arduously back to your cabin. You push open the door with your shoulder, and lay the unconscious mare on the bed in the cabin’s bedroom. Despite your best judgement, you were forced to pull off the mare’s clothes, which were absolutely ruined and soaked with blood and dirt, and would probably just lead to her wounds getting infected. Of the supplies you had bought in town, you had obtained some first-aid tools specifically for injuries such as this, so you were able to bandage up her wound and prevent her condition from getting any worse.
After this, you crashed on the couch, considering what had happened over the night. It had certainly been an interesting turn of events. You came here expecting to arrest the highwaymare, and now all you had done is saved her life. But you would get a bigger reward if you brought the bandit in alive than dead, anyway. You resolved that you would ask her what the situation was tommorow. In the meantime, after such an exhausting day, it was about time you got some sleep...
