This choice: You awake the next morning. • Go Back...Chapter #10Sleeping Beauty by: Unknown You woke early the next morning, to the nostalgic sound of chirping birds in the forest outside. You sit up on the couch and stretch, shaking the cobwebs off yourself. After spending so long in the cities full of nosey and overly-social ponies, being able to spend some time in an isolated cabin like this was a breath of fresh air. After relaxing a bit and having a meager breakfast, you remember why you’re here. You find the rainbow-maned mare laying on her side, still in a deep sleep. She should wake up soon, you hoped, unless she was in a coma or something. You couldn’t help but notice how attractive she was. She was sleek and slightly muscular; obviously a pretty serious athlete. Her exposed breasts were smaller than the average mare’s, but still firm and perky. You tried not to stare while you replaced her bloodied bandages with clean ones.
As you were fumbling to cook something on the crude iron stove, the noise of your struggles seemed to stir the mare. Her eyes slid open, and she seemed relaxed at first, then suddenly terrified when she realized she didn’t recognize her surroundings. “W-who… the hay are you? Where am I!?” she yelled, trying to jump up from the bed, only for her wound to force her to lay back down.
“Whoa, whoa, calm down!” You called back, trying to calm her down before she hurt herself. “I rescued you, I rescued you.”
She laid on her back, gripping her bandage wound, still wincing in pain. Realizing that she wasn’t going to go anywhere with an injury like this, she turned her attention to you. “Wh… who… who are you?” she panted quietly, as she waited for the pain in her belly to alleviate.
“I'm Thomas,” You said, sitting at a chair by her bedside. “Don’t you remember? You were running away from those bounty hunters. I helped you.”
She stared you down for a second, her expression indecipherable, before starting to laugh quietly to herself. “Heh… these games are never going to end, are they?” she whispered, plopping her head on her pillow.
“What do you mean?” You asked, as you walked back to fiddle with the iron oven some more.
“I’ll tell you later,” she yawned, rolling around onto her side. “So… is there any particular reason I’m naked?”
“Your clothes were ruined. I don’t have any spares. Sorry.” You explained, sheepishly. Before she could respond, you pulled a wooden bowl from the oven, full of warm oils and broth and chunks of vegetables, and sat by her bed. “I made something to eat, if you’re hungry.”
“Oh! Uh, wow, thanks,” she said, looking surprise at your hospitality as she took the bowl in her hands. You focused on trying to get the generator working while she ate the soup in silence. “Why are you doing all of this for me?” She asked suddenly, cutting through the silence. You grimace. You hadn’t thought to prepare for this. How were you going to explain to her that you were a bounty hunter, too? Would she think the only reason you saved her was to claim the bounty? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
