"Why 100?" you asked in surprise. 100 seemed to be too small to help repopulate a species that numbers more than 10 times that amount.
"2 reasons:
A. The number was so that not too many disappearances could be attributed to alien abductions. Others on your planet have suspicions that aliens, as you could call us, exist, so the fewer the number the less likely they find out the truth.
B. We might have to return all 100 of you back should efforts to repopulate our species fail. If that does occur, the number of humans is again small enough that efforts to return you back to your normal, daily lives would not be noticed easily." Dr. Fyla explained before resuming, "In addition, 100 males being abducted would be slightly concerning to the rest of your kind but not too concerning to warrant mass panic."

Clearly, these......what would you called them? Oh, right..... these humanoids clearly planned out this out so that conspiracy theorists and government intelligence agencies would have some vague ideas of extraterrestrial life, but the majority of humanity was clueless or dismissive of the thought of aliens coming from outer space.

"Okay, that does explain quite a lot, thank you for answering my question." you told Dr. Fyla as Nysa began taking the vials of blood to store properly.
"No problem human." Dr. Fyla said.
The two of you wait for a few minutes before Nysa returns with more equipment and a tablet of some kind.
"Okay, now it is time to....."
