Chapter #5Bangle Bonds, Bonnie Blooms by: who-me Bonnie hated Kim Possible so much right now. A boring class trip to the museum of cultural history was meant to be an easy day in school. No tests, no quizzes, just look at the old crap and imagine herself with some of the jewelry on. Then about ten minutes ago, it started when they were in this wing about this group of strong warriors. Some precious urn was on display. Old crap and useless, but some woman was taking photos all over it. She looked familiar, like a previous temporary teacher they had.
Turns out, she was some bad guy Kim fought! Kim took notice of her and confronted her. Then the woman's hands started glowing and firing off energy, Kim fought back as Ron did crowd control to clear the area. Now, hidden behind one pillar, Bonnie was too scared to move. Kim was thrown into the urn display and the ancient relic fell onto the ground, shattering and scattering the pieces in Bonnie's direction. One larger-than-other chunks of the clay slid by her. As she looked at it, something... glittered inside of it. She pushed her hand onto it and the clay crumbled away, revealing a gold bangle. There were carvings on it and strange runes. It... drew her in.
"Ohh. I should keep you safe," Bonnie said, slipping it on her wrist. The bangle felt warm. Bonnie looked at the fighters as the villain ran off and Kim followed. She missed how the bangle glowed softly. She looked back at her accessory and knew she had to take it off, but as she tried pulling it, it wouldn't budge. It remained firmly on her body. Ripping off a finger would be easier than removing this.
"Oh fuck," she whispered. But with the commotion done, she knew she could run for it. She didn't want to be accused of stealing something. It would likely kick her off the cheer team and ruin her chances to get into college. With the panic over the attack still present in the crowd outside as she got out there, no one noticed her not joining her classmates. She started running home.
As her feet hit the pavement, she felt more energetic, moving faster than she would normally, but put it down to the fight or flight situation she was just in. She soon returned home. She growled softly as she saw two cars in the driveway. Her sisters were here for the weekend. "Another great moment for the day," Bonnie said as she walked in.
As Bonnie greeted her sisters, they once more mocked her intelligence, beauty, and capabilities. Ever since Kim stopped that big attack happening the same night as Prom, even they had been impressed by the redhead's abilities. They used Kim as another measuring point on where Bonnie failed to measure up.

Shego had gotten away from Kim Possible in her helicopter jet. As she contacted Draken, he was upset by the lose of the urn, but happy Shego got the pictures of all sides. "Looking at the hieroglyphs, they read 'The power lies within the Altar.' The rest is hard for the computer to read. Clean your lens next time Shego! We must find where they recovered this from!"
"Yeah, and what is this power you're trying to find?" Shego asked. "You sent me in without much information!"
"It's said the leader of this tribe was a fearsome warlord with supernatural strength, but was felled by Europeans and guns. They were cremated and the essence of their power was said contained within a bangle," Draken said. Shego nodded.
"Enhanced strength could be good," Shego said. Her body still hurt from that lose to Kim Possible.
====
Kim, Ron, and Wade were discussing much of the same information as Wade looked at the high resolution images the museum took before putting it on display. "Some of these haven't been deciphered yet. The only part known reads, 'The Power lies within the Altar.'"
"Wade, whatever they want this power for can't be good," Kim said as they left the museum. "Where was it found? And was any altar made mention in the location?"
====
Hours past as the heroes and villains looked more into this urn, unaware the location of the urn was on the altar they were looking for. The urn was the cremation pot and the object they sought now was on the arm of a very frustrated young woman.
"So, I've been scouted by a modeling agency," Lonnie said as she ate dinner. "They wanted someone tall and beautiful to wear this coming fashion designs."
"And my doctoral thesis is coming along well. I should have it done in a few months," Connie said. Mrs. Rockwaller nodded.
"That's great dears. Bonnie, how's your school?" the doting mother asked.
"Um..Good. Everything's great," Bonnie said, trying to figure out a way to get this damn thing off.
"Oh. Is school too hard? Need me to tutor you?" Connie said. Bonnie snarled. "I know you have some trouble with the basics."
"Sorry mom! I'm not hungry anymore," Bonnie said before leaving the table.
"You should treat your sister better, girls," their mother scolded.
"I will when she is out better," Lonnie said.
Outside the room, Bonnie heard those words and her own mother's lack of response. At times.... she hated her family. Even her own mother. She ran upstairs and laid on her bed. She missed the bangle glowing once more as she went to sleep.
=====
Bonnie was walking down a torch-lit hallway. Her feet were bare, but not in pain. A statue was before her. Kim Possible looking great, even like this. Bonnie heard her voice, asking what was so hard about the routine she just did when it took Bonnie weeks of practice to get it down. Kim succeeded in one try. Bonnie clenched her hand and punched the statue. It shattered and Bonnie noticed something. Her arms were thicker now.
She continued on. More statues of people who insulted her, who degrade her, who never respected her in school. All became dust as her body grew more and more with each victory. It felt good. It felt right. And her clothes grew with her, showing off her thickening arms, lethal legs, and rock hard abs.
She came to the last statues. Her perfect sisters. She was taller than them by a few inches in height, but in mass she was them twice over. She could feel her body churning with power, ready to unleash it. She smashed the statues together, making them dust in her hands.
Clapping broke the silence of this strange tunnel and Bonnie moved on. What could beat her in this body?
Someone even bigger. Bonnie looked up and up. Standing at probably 6'4", she didn't come to the breasts of the woman before her, lounging in a stone chair. "You've proven yourself," the woman said, looking down at Bonnie.
"Who are you? What's going on?" Bonnie asked. The room brightened and she saw statues of those she just crushed, now on one knee before her. Kim and her sisters were in full supplication, head on the ground facing Bonnie.
"I am the last part of an ancient warrior queen. It was my destiny to conquer the world, and I did," the queen said. "But the world expanded. It brought weapons I never knew, never could adapt to, and died centuries ago."
"So, you're a ghost?" Bonnie asked.
"More... spirit advisor. I became aware when you put on my bangle. I saw your life and here I tested you. Your thirst for domination is like my own. I wish you to be my successor," the spirit said. She smiled at Bonnie.
"And what's in it for me? I don't do this hero crap. That's Kim's thing. I just want to be number one in school," Bonnie said.
"Such limited ambitions. You should want more. You deserve more," the spirit said. "As I did, you shall too gain strength from those you dominate, subjugate, and conquer. I had this form from gaining a few thousand supporters. The football arena of your state holds more. If we had those people worshiping us, dominated by us, none would stop us."
Bonnie looked behind the spirit and saw a new statue. It wasn't her enemies or this spirit. It was her, towering over all below, built like a tank. One hand looked like it could crush a car. Part of her... wanted that. It needed that power. "That could be me?" Bonnie asked.
"Yes. You simply need to succeed," the spirit said. "Now, go forth."
======
Bonnie's alarm woke her up. She blinked and remembered it was Saturday. She would have cheer practice with the squad at 10am. The bangle was still on her arm, but that wasn't all. She could feel it. She was different from when she went to sleep. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
