Tom was looking around the beach while Alex was working on his suntan. People were just walking past the sleeping Goliath, who was lying on his towel in the sand, allowing his bulging muscles to glow in the sun. Tom couldn't help but chuckle as he walked back from the volleyball court and admired his big, muscular friend, who was sound asleep.
"Oh well, I guest he needed to let his muscles rest for awhile!" he laughed, as he turned around and started heading towards the shore. As he walked closer to the water, he suddenly heard a female voice calling out his name.
"Tom! TOM!"
Tom turned around and spotted Cheryl Chaney, the lady who lived across the street from his house! He quickly walked up to her, as she lowered her sun glasses while she was enjoying the shade while sitting under her umbrella.
"Hi Mrs. Chaney! Nice to see you here!" Tom said politely.
"Hey Tom! How are you? You know, it was such a nice day to go to the beach, especially since it was so hot outside! And the boys weren't doing anything else but fuss and play video games all day long, so I had to get them out of the house!"
"Oh, are Steven and Tyler here?" Tom asked, remembering the two boys who lived across the street from him. Steve was seven years old and Tyler was nine.
"Oh yes, they're over there, building a sand castle! Go say hi to them!" Mrs. Chaney said, as she pointed at the two boys who were playing in the sand.
Tom looked over and slowly walked over to the two small, skinny boys. Just then, one of them got up and grabbed a handful of sand,. throwing it at the other.
"You can't catch me!" Steven teased, as he took off running.
The two boys started running after each other, with Tom looking on from a distance. Even though Tyler was two years older, there wasn't much difference between the two of them. They both had blond hair and they both were short and skinny. They loved to play with each other and they often teased and annoyed one another.
Tom grabbed the wand out of his back pocket and watched silently as he saw the two boys running after each other from a distance. Just then, the two started running towards him. Tom pondered who he would change first.
