Chapter #6The best policy by: Godot "So, did you enjoy your meal?"
Berry Pinch licked the last bits of stew from her bowl before saying, "Yes, thank you so much!"
"I made it special for you, your mother was happy to lend a hoof as well."
"Oh, really?" Pinch said, looking away, "That was nice of her..."
"Is there something wrong Pinchy dear?" You reach across the table to rub her cheek with your hoof. You could hear something like disappointment in the little filly's tone.
"Well, Mom doesn't usually... Never mind."
"Please, tell me."
Punchy sighs, and pushes her bowl away, "Mom usually never makes dinner. She's usually not home to make dinner, so I end up going to bed on an empty belly."
"Oh sweetie, that's terrible. But she's still your mother!"
"I wish she wasn't." Pinchy said it to the ground because she was too ashamed. You pretended to be shocked, even giving a shocked gasp to seem surprised. In reality, though, you're giddy. This is all too perfect. You lean across the table and wrap your arms around her head in a loving embrace.
"Pinchy! Please don't stay things like that!"
Berry Pinch shoves you away. She has to struggle just to keep her tears down long enough to say, "No! She's awful! She just goes out and drinks and drinks and then she comes home and forgets about me! I hate her!"
You hug her head again, "No, shh. Shh Pinchy."
You feel Berry Pinch start to sob against your chest. You rub your hoof back and forth in her mane, soothing her as best as you can. She's clearly distressed, now would be the best time to strike. She's nearly yours.
"Sweetums? Did you really like my stew?"
Berry pulls away, tears still in her eyes, and nods. She has no idea where you're going with this, but she'll see in time.
"Pinchy, come with me. I want to show you something special. I think it'll make you happy."
Pinch lets you lead her away from the kitchen and upstairs. You take your sweet time on the hallway toward the bathroom, letting Pinch rest on your side as you walk. You need her to be able to trust you, and the fact that she's willing to lean on you is a very good sign. You nudge the door open and let your filly guest walk first into your makeshift butchershop. Her eyes are immediately drawn to her mother, still unconscious and lying there without her forehooves. But Berry Pinch doesn't even blink.
"What did you do to mom?"
"She was the special ingredient in the stew, Pinchy. You ate the meat from her hooves. Wasn't it tasty?"
"Yes." Berry is completely deadpan.
"She's still alive Pinchy. But if you want we can make the rest of her into a meal. It'll be tasty."
"Let's do it."
"But she's your mother. Doesn't that mean anything to you?"
"Not anymore."
Sweet Celestia. Pinchy has serious demons. Demons that want to cut up and eat her mother. Of course, this is all still working to your advantage. You pass Pinchy a knife and watch as your new protégé takes your cutlery and starts to slice up her mother. The serum you put in Punch has her asleep the entire time, even as her flesh is stripped to the bone. You guide Pinch's hoof, helping her find the correct technique for each muscle and tendon. Eventually, it comes time to end your little game, and with all her non-vital organs removed, you allow Pinchy to seal the deal with a series of slices on the arteries and brainstem.
Then, Berry Pinch surprises you when she... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
