This choice: Yeah, to be more accurate she unknowingly bought a magical item • Go Back...Chapter #32A Normal Day Turns Into An Abnormal Night by: MLPAgeRegress It was a typical summer sunday in Ponyville, the sun was out with hardly a cloud in the sky. Twilight was shopping at "Rich's Barnyard Bargains," the biggest story for grocery needs. Spike would normally occupancy her, but he had scheduled for weeks that this would be his comic binge day, to catch back up. Starlight was out with her friend Trixie for the evening. Of course, both of them still had plenty of time to write something on the grocery list.
As Twilight was getting the last of the items, such as toiletries, a thought hit her as she saw Mrs. Cake shopping for groceries again. 'Am I basically Spike and Starlight's mom? Nah, I don't do every mom oriented thing. I mean I just go grocery shopping, set up dinner, advice them on when to go to bed, keep them scheduled most of the time, comfort them when they're feeling.. bad...' Twilight took a moment to do the breathing exercise Cadence taught her a while back. 'It's okay Twilight, you choose to do this stuff. I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping out if I asked.' Twilight paused. 'Wait that's exactly what my mom did.." Twilight sighed, feeling as if her friendship duties had for the longest time made her essentially a mom.
As she was down in the dumps, something hit the corner of her eye, she stopped, causing the groceries in her grocery saddle to clatter a little. She saw a sign talking about a new brand of bath soap. On the cover it read that it wasn't just soap, but a softener as well, making a ponies coat quote "as soft as a foals." The only negative was that on the back it said in tiny print that "Do not heat water with any of the following spells when using it' and provided a list of perhaps six spells. It was hard to make out, but Twilight wanted to try something new. This could make her feel less old (even though her problem had more to do with her responsibilities, not her coat.)
Wit that item, there was nothing more she needed and she proceeded to check out. The lines were surprisingly empty for a sunday afternoon. Perhaps, ponies were just out and about. The weather was great after all.
The pony proceeded through her items with a fast pace, putting everything in shopping bags with a levitation spell. The total was roughly fifty bits, a little bit more than normal. The new bath soap costed a little bit more than normal. Twilight thanked the individual colt and proceeded home, which was not far away.
She walked through rather crowded streets, staying focused on her castle just a ways a way. Within roughly 8 minutes she got the big shiny door, opening and closing it. "Spike! Starlight I'm home!"
No one called back. "Oh dear, Starlight's not back yet? I hope she can make it for dinner."
Twilight efficiently started putting things away. Roughly 30 minutes later, everything was set and she went to the kitchen to set up some hay burgers. She knew how her friends/children liked them.
When she was done with that, she set up the table. The time was roughly 7:00 at this point. "Gee, should I call Spike down? I thought Starlight would be here by now."
"SPIKE! DINNER IS READY!"
Spike was a little annoyed "I'LL BE DOWN LATER! I'M AT A GREAT PART RIGHT NOW!"
Twilight motherly rolled her eyes. "K! PLEASE COME DOWN AT SOME POINT THOUGH!"
Spike didn't hear her and so Twilight just figured he'd do so anyway. She then went to the living room and picked up one of the books she got that day on the history of YakYakistan. She wanted to read up on Equestria's new allies as a gesture of kindness.
Several hours went by where she was immersed in the books pages, only to be taken out of it by the sound of the front door opening and closing. "I'm home!" Starlight yelled "Anypony still awake?"
Twilight quickly folded her current page and rushed to the door, calling "Yes! One sec!" In seconds Twilight was up at the front with eager questions "So, how was your evening? Wanna talk it over with dinner?"
Starlight looked at Twilight confused "Dinner? Um, Twilight it's 10:05, I had dinner out tonight."
"Ah, sorry about that. I was a little immersed in my book." Twilight blushed. "Well, I'll go ahead put the hay burgers away and then we can talk, how's that sound?"
Starlight smiled with exhaustion. "Thanks Twilight, but can we hold off until tomorrow. I'm pretty tired. I was thinking about just taking a nice bath or something."
Twilight looked a little saddened, but tried to keep her cool. "Oh, well, that sounds okay. I bought some new soap by the way, it's also coat softener. Try it out and tell me what you think."
Starlight perked up "Oo, good thinking, Twilight. I could use something like that."
Twilight smiled "Glad you liked it. I know you're more into spa treatments than I am though, so don't use all of it. I'll probably stay up a bit longer. Reading this great book."
Starlight smirked "What's this one on?"
"YakYakistan history!"
Starlight chuckled "Of course, well we can talk about that tomorrow too. Night!"
"Night!"
As Starlight went to the bathroom, Twilight checked in on Spike to find the little dragon fast asleep with comics spread out on his bed. Twilight smiled. "I keep telling him not to read comics on his bed. Oh well..."
Starlight did the usual, laying out a towel for later and turning on the water on hot. She went to the bathroom as it was getting ready. "Ahh, tonight was a good night.."
Went she was finished, the bath water was up to a moderate level, but it was annoyingly cold. "Augh, not this again.." Twilight then charged up her horn and used a heat spell on the water. She then saw the bath soap Twilight was mentioning on the side in it's bright pink bottle and squirted a little bit into the water.
The water quickly acquired a pinkish hue and Starlight calmly sank in. "Ooo.. this is nice. Twilight has good taste..."
As Starlight sank into a calm laying position, with her head resting on a warm towel to the right end. Thoughts passed through her head at slow pace, as the subtle age regression started taking effect.
Starlight didn't notice, but her height was gradually slipping away along with any sign of age on her face. Her thoughts drifted back and forth between her couple friends, wondering what would come in the future. As these thoughts passed through her head 5 minutes in, she was recognizably a filly, same as the CMC. Her head and the towel slid further down, causing the water to completely cover her chin. At around this time new thoughts passed through of anxiety and whether she'd be able to find any new friends. Sweat and visible signs of fear were apparent on her face. After another two and half minutes of these thoughts, she was considerably smaller than the CMC, roughly a toddler. Head and towel drifted even further into the water, sinking down until her nose was just above the water. In the pinkish water one could see a closed smile on her face. Her thoughts had changed a second time, now focusing on how fun, nice, and great all of her friends. Within thirty seconds, her nose sunk into the water, causing her to squirm from lack of breath. She then opened her eyes and gasped at the top. She was just barely able to touch the bottom of the tub on her hind legs. Her thoughts then brought on an enormous well of anxiety as to whether her friends really liked her. For some reason, she couldn't stop thinking about her friends. As she lost more and more height, she couldn't touch the bottom anymore and started struggling to not drown. "Ahhhh! halp *pant* Somepone halp me! *pant*" Her voice was high pitched and was riddled with a baby accent. Twilight could faintly hear something and got up from her chair to check, walking at a moderate pace down the hall.
As Starlight struggled to get composure, she regressed down to a one year old foal and her thoughts drifted to an anxiety that she had no friends. From struggling to drown and those depressing thoughts, she yelled at the top of her lungs "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!"
Twilight was just seeing the bathroom door down the hall as she heard wails from an infant. She didn't know what it was, but for some reason panic set in. She ran as fast as she could to the door, opening it briskly to see her student in pink water.
"STARLIGHT!" Twilight quickly levitated her out of the water to find that her student was nothing more than a 1 year old. "STARLIGHT!?"
Twilight's yell woke up Starlight from her drowned induced coma. She faintly opened her eyes to see an enormous Twilight. She nervously looked down at her body only to see a chubby body of a foal. Tears quickly came out of her eye sockets and she started wailing at the top of her lungs. Fortunately for Spike, his bathroom was far down the hall and couldn't hear it.
Twilight quickly levitated a towel and dried her baby student/child, shushing her calmly "Shh shhh.. it's okay Starlight. I'm here." Starlight briefly got a grip only to start wailing yet again.
Seconds later, she was dry, Twilight wrapped her in the towel and started cradling her. "It's okay Starlight. I'm here." Starlight got a grip again and prevented from wailing again, but she still had tears in her eyes and was noticably frightened.
In a high pitched scared baby voice, she asked "Wha-wha ha-pen ta me?"
Twilight took a deep breath. "I don't know why, but you turned into a baby." This illicited more tears. "It's okay, it's okay Starlight. Remember, I'm here. I won't let anything bad happen to you."
That calmed her down.
Twilight cradled her some more. "There, there.." and then something caught the corner of her eye, it was the new soap. Instantly, a flashback hit her about the warning.
"I-I think I know what happened." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
