Fear of Forever and Hopeless Acceptance

"Did you heat the water with a spell?" Twilight asked calmly

Starlight nervously tried to recall the immediate last 7 minutes. "Uh.. uh... me no kno.. maybe, why?"

Twilight took a deep breath. "Because it had a warning on the bottle about doing that."

Starlight covered her face "Wha? Bu bu, how wha me sa-pose ta kno dat... sniff. This no fa-wa!"

"It's okay Starlight. I'm sure we can fix this tomorrow morning." Twilight tried to calm her while still being truthful.

"Bu bu, me no wanna way-ta. Ef me no chan bak den den.. wha wha ef me neba chan bak! Wha ef me stay wike dis fa-eba?!'

Twilight tried cradling her some more. "It's okay Starlight. I understand your concern, but we'll fix this first thing in the morning."

Starlight murmured "Me gess me betta ge use ta dis..."

Twilight pondered for a second. "Well, in the mean time, I should probably keep you someone safe from an accident."

"Me gess..." And a couple tears came out.

Twilight seemed concerned. "It's okay Starlight. You won't be staying like this forever."

Truth be told, Twilight didn't know how to calm her feelings. The only tool she could think to use was soothing words.

She then went to a linen closet, bullet out a soft white silk cloth and then a bobby pin. Following afterward, she laid the little on the bathroom mat and methodically folded the cloth straps over, tightening them with the bobby pin.

Twilight giggled at how adorable Starlight was and, perhaps without putting too much thought into it, showed Starlight to the bathroom mirror. "What do you think Starlight?"

Starlight stared with silent curiosity at her image. Her mane was still styled the same, her eyes were beady with a purplish color. The makeshift diaper actually looked pretty cute. A faint smile formed on the edge of her lips. "Tanks Twi-wite.."

Twilight motherly smiled and tried to stay more considerate "Would you like to sleep with me tonight though?"

Starlight gave a befuddled facial expression followed by small acceptance. "Me gess dat fa da bess."

"Don't worry Starlight, we'll resolve this."
