It was six hours later in the Batcave when the results had come in. Using state of the art computers, and getting some of his most trusted allies to diagnose scans of the blood sample, Bruce had come to one conclusion; that his partner was now female.
All the results said the same thing; that Dick was in amazing shape for a kid his age, but somehow turned into a young woman overnight. Looking over his shoulder, Bruce watched Dick try and do aerobics on a set of exercise bars he set up in the corner of the cave. Dick had just missed one of the bars because he was still trying to balance the weight in his chest and depend on his upper body strength.
Alfred walked over and placed a cup of hot chocolate beside Bruce. "Penny for your thoughts, sir?"
"It doesn't make sense. I've read the police reports about the toxins found at the crime scene, nothing there matched anything that could have just switched a person's gender. He must have been exposed elsewhere."
"Sir, might I suggest calling your ex for assistance?"
"Zatanna? I've already sent her a message. With any luck, she'll be able to get to the city by the end of this week. In the meantime, I want Dick to be kept a close eye on. As far as I can tell, his brain scans still suggests that he has male brain patterns. There is no telling how he will deal to situations in society, or fighting crime."
"Yes sir, I'll keep my eye on him...er, her." With that said, Alfred then walked down to the young lady, who had only yesterday been a male. She was trying her balance on the requirement. As Alfred walked up, she was on her twentieth second of doing a one-armed handstand while doing the splits. "Very impressive Master Dick," Alfred said and she pushed herself off the beam and made a perfect landing.
"Tell me you have some good news, Alfred."
"Good news, as far as all the tests could tell, is that you're perfectly healthy. In fact, despite the metamorphosis, you seem to be incredibly fit for a woman your age."
"So it's not going to reverse on it's own?" she asked.
"We'll need to do more tests tomorrow," Alfred replied with little emotion in his voice.
"But you said I'm fine. And just because I don't have a penis doesn't make me any less dangerous in the field!"
"If you say so, sir." Before he walked away, the butler noticed that Dick has been rubbing her shirt throughout her exercises. "Perhaps this will help," he said, handing something over to Dick.
"What is it?" Dick asked holding the object in front of him.
"It's called a sports bra, sir," said Alfred in his trademark deadpan manner.
