The enslavement spell was still too strong. Had Fleur waited a bit before trying to overpower it, she might have succeeded. But not this time.
"No, only mistress Hermione is beautiful." Harry said resolutely. He felt proud of himself for having resisted veela magic in the name of his mistress.
The blonde witch pouted "Oh, 'Arry, zat is too bad. I vas hoping to make you my slave, but zere are other vays to make zis work." She slowly drew her wand and waved it without speaking the incantation.
Harry bent over as the magic took effect. There was a strange sensation rushing through his body. It felt like he was expanding and compressing all at once. "Ze magic 'Ermione cast on you is powerful, yes, but it only works on 'uman beings. Zis is a fun way to get around that yes?"
Harry tried to say something, but his mouth could no longer form words. He tried to feel his mouth, but his fingers didn't seem to be working either. In fact, he wasn't entirely sure they were still there.
Fleur kneed down and began to pat Harry on the head and scratch him behind the ears. It was at this point that Harry tried to look at himself. He was covered in black fur and his hands were replaced by paws. Looking behind himself there was a wagging tail. He realized to his horror that he was now a dog. He tried to scream. "Arf! Arf!"
Fleur giggled as she conjured up a dog treat. "Sit boy"
Harry had regained some of his sense of identity now that the magic of the enslavement spell was temporarily subdued by his transformation. As such, he tried to rebel. He might look like a dog, but he still had the human spirit.
