Once in the cafeteria, you noticed that it was completely deserted. Not only there were no students or staff, but Miss Winters was nowhere to be found.
“This is quite unusual.” Richard said, touching his shaved chin “The cafeteria shouldn’t be empty at this hour. It’s too soon for the students, but the staff should be present. And where is Miss Winters?”
“Yeah, this is not normal.” you agreed “What’s happening today?”
But while the three of you were still thinking about it, the doors of the cafeteria opened with a slam, and five figures entered in it.
They were not humans, that was sure. Not only they were identical to each other, but their skin was not normal. It was blue, like if made of translucent ice. They had no hair, with two horns that protruded from their heads, and their eyes were red as burning flames. They were tall and muscular, and were wearing futuristic black armors. Each of them was holding in hand a sword and a shield.
“What are those?” you exclaimed, frightened.
“I don’t know.” Richard replied, trying to maintain his composure despite the fear in his heart “But they don’t look friendly.”
Astrid took a step forward and collecting all of her courage exclaimed “Whatever you are, stay away from us!”
The five individuals didn’t respond, and slowly begun to move toward them.
“They come!” you yelled “What should we do?”
Astrid replied with action: she jumped forward and with all her strength pumped up by the adrenaline she threw a punch right into one of the monsters’ face.
The creature took the blow and faltered, but just for an instant. He immediately reacted moving the shield in her direction in a rapid movement. Before he could hit her right on the face, however, Astrid was pulled back: Richard, with the movements worthy of a cat, had jumped forward and took her by the collar of her shirt, taking her away from the enemy’s attack.
“Thank you.” she mumbled, getting back on her feet.
“They are strong.” Richard said “I doubt we can beat them by force.”
You took a step forward, and said “We must try, or we are done.”
As you were about to try everything on a desperate struggle in a battle of survival against foes of unknown origin, a familiar figure entered in the cafeteria. With a rapid movement and parkour moves, the figure in question went beyond the monsters and positioned itself in your defense.
You and both of the other were astonished in seeing Miss Winters, that pointed her wooden ruler at the monsters and said with a confident tone of voice “If you dare to threaten my pupils, you will get permanent detention.”
Unafraid, the five monster begun to move toward here.
“Miss Winters, we must find a way out of here.” Richard said.
“The way out is right in front of us.” she simply responded.
With those word, Sephora twirled the ruler in her hand. Once done, the wooden ruler was no more: the teacher was instead holding a Viking large sword with runic inscription all over the hilt.
Without even a second of hesitation, Miss Winters ran against the opponents. Swinging her sword in what looked like a mortal dance, the teacher struck all of the enemies down, one by one. As each of them reached the ground, mortal wounded, he melted down like ice exposed to the sun, disappearing forever.
“Bad boys must be punished.” the teacher commented as the sword reverted back to the ruler form, then she turned back toward her amazed students “I know you have a lot of questions, but we don’t have time right now. Follow me.”
“Yes, Miss Winters. We’re coming.” Richard immediately responded.
“What? Are you serious?” Astrid yelled “We’re following her like this after what we just saw?”
“She’s Miss Winters.” Richard calmly said “I’m sure she know exactly what to do.”
You looked around, and decided to support…
