"The contest is only in five days! Which means I gotta get you into proper competition ready shape in just five short days!" Natsu simply shrugged as he continued stuffing his face with scrambled eggs. Happy simply gnawed on one of Lucy's homemade donuts for a while. Gulping down a mouthful of egg, Natsu sighed and said, "Five days, huh? Pfft, we'll be ready in no time! Cause right now, I got a fire in my belly, and it's burning for as much as I can cram into my mouth!" With that, he took several pieces of sausage and laid them out near his eggs as he took his fork and stuck several pieces onto it with a bit of egg on top and immediately crammed it into his mouth. Enjoying the mixed flavor of the two, Natsu almost mechanically began to shovel eggs and sausage into his maw in the same fashion, stuffing bigger mouthfuls into his jaws at once and gulping them down with gusto.
Leaning back, Natsu rubbed his stomach happily and with a smile, said, "Damn, those were some great eggs, Lucy! Honestly, had I known I'd be eating THIS good, I'd have done these eating contest things a long time ago!" He then grabbed a plate of bacon and began shoveling several at a time into his mouth like they were french fries. Crumbs and bacon residue spewed from the sides of the fire mage's mouth as he munched down giant heaping mouthfuls of crunchy, crispy bacon. Gulping it down heartily, he exhaled happily and proceeded to stuff more into his eager jaws.
Glancing down, Lucy had also noticed that Natsu's stomach had lost some of it's usually rock hard definition, and seemed...softer. with almost a slight angle to it, and with all the bacon he was consuming, it looked to be distending even more, albeit slightly.
"Looks like you're making some progress. Good thing you were already training with Gray before we got started, or it might've taken us a little longer," she said as she continued to cook up some more bacon, and began to pour batter for pancakes.
"Hehe...yeah, uhhh, glad me'n Gray thought ahead...heh..." muttered Natsu as he rubbed the back of his pink spiky hair sheepishly. "Oh, that reminds me! Is Gray entering that contest too?"
"I-is he what now?"
"You guys were training for it before you came back to the Guild, and when you did, his belly looked almost as big as yours did."
Natsu grinned proudly upon being reminded that he was able to eat more than his rival Ice Mage, but quickly regained composure as he adjusted the collar on his vest a bit and said, "Ummmm, y-yeah, I think he is too. Why?" Pondering for a moment, Lucy said, "Well, I was thinking maybe he could train with us too."
"What? Why?"
"Because that way, we have a bigger chance of winning if more of us are in the competition. Besides, if I help him train, I can get him to agree to split the winnings with us three ways. What do you think? Should I get him on board with all of this too?
Natsu thought for a moment, glancing back as Happy continued to stuff his little face with another donut, then finally, he said...
