A small bit of help

When he woke up the next morning, he felt different. He was excited about going to school, not because of his classes, but because he knew he would see Tyler again. He got dressed and headed to the bus stop, looking forward to what the day would bring.

As he boarded the bus, he saw Tyler sitting in the back, waiting for him. They smiled at each other, and Adam felt like he had found a true friend, someone who was unlike anyone he had ever met before.

They chatted throughout the ride to school, but as Adam and Tyler got off the bus and walked towards their first period class, they ran into Jared again. Adam's heart sank, and he could feel the fear rising inside him.

Jared walked up to them, flanked by his usual group of bullies. "Well, well, well. Look who it is," Jared sneered. "The little nerd and his freaky friend."

Adam tried to ignore him and kept walking, but Jared grabbed him by the collar, pulling him back. "I don't think so, loser. You're not going anywhere."

Adam trembled in fear, thinking that this time, Jared would make good on his threats.

But Tyler stepped in front of Jared, his eyes glowing with a mischievous glint. "Hey, Jared. What's up?"

Jared looked at Tyler with a mixture of fear and confusion. "What are you doing?"

Tyler just grinned. "I don't appreciate you giving my friend a hard time."

Jared looked like he was about to say something, but before he could, Tyler did something that left everyone stunned. He waved his hand in front of Jared's face, and suddenly, Jared started to shrink.

Adam watched in amazement as Jared became smaller and smaller until he was the size of a toy action figure. Tyler picked him up with two fingers, holding him up to his face.

"Now, Jared," Tyler said, his voice low and serious. "If I catch you giving my friend a hard time again, I might not be so kind next time."

Jared looked up at Tyler with wide eyes, trembling in fear. Tyler then flicked his fingers, and Jared returned to his normal size, cowering on the ground.

Tyler turned to Adam and helped him up. "Let's go, Adam. We've got a class to get to."

Adam followed Tyler, feeling a mixture of fear and awe. He had just seen Tyler use his powers to stop Jared, and he couldn't believe what he had witnessed. He realized that he was lucky to have Tyler as his friend. Tyler might be a god of trickery and deception, but he was also someone who would stand up for his friends and protect them from bullies.

During their first period class, Adam noticed that everyone was buzzing about what had happened with Jared. They whispered and talked amongst themselves, but then Tyler did something that left Adam amazed yet again.

Tyler waved his hand in front of the class, and suddenly everyone except for Adam seemed to forget about what had happened. They went back to their work as if nothing had happened, leaving Adam feeling confused.

Adam turned to Tyler, who had a mischievous grin on his face. "What did you do?" Adam asked.

"I made them forget," Tyler replied. "Except for you, of course. I can't erase your memory."

Adam nodded, still unsure. "What about Jared? Did he forget too?"

Tyler shook his head. "He won't remember the details, but he'll remember being afraid. That's the point."

Later on, when Adam was alone, he couldn't stop thinking about what had happened. He wondered if it was a good idea to shrink Jared like that, even if he was a bully. He decided to talk to Tyler about it after school.

When he met up with Tyler, Adam expressed his uncertainty about what they had done to Jared. Tyler tried to reassure him that it was the right thing to do, but Adam wasn't convinced.

"What if it backfires?" Adam asked. "What if he comes after us?"

Tyler just smirked. "Don't worry. We'll try something different tomorrow."

Adam was taken aback. "What do you mean?"

Tyler just chuckled. "You'll see. Trust me."

As Adam walked home, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. He trusted Tyler, but he also knew that his friend had powers that he couldn't fully understand. He wondered what Tyler had in store for him tomorrow and hoped that it wouldn't be anything too risky.

As he entered his house, his mind was still buzzing with thoughts of Tyler and his secret world. He couldn't wait to see what the next day would bring.
