Chapter #6

A Big Change

    by: citywalker Author IconMail Icon
As Adam woke up the next day, he stretched his arms and legs out, but they seemed to keep going. He sat up and looked down at himself, shocked to see that he was now nine feet tall. His clothes barely fit him, and he had to duck his head to avoid hitting the ceiling. He stumbled out of his room, struggling to get used to his new height.

As he sat down at the breakfast table, he broke the chair he was sitting in, sending him crashing to the ground. His parents acted as if nothing was wrong, as if it was perfectly normal for their son to suddenly become a giant.

The only person who seemed to find the situation amusing was Tyler, who greeted him at the bus stop with a huge grin on his face.

"What did you do to me?" Adam asked, panicked.

Tyler just chuckled. "Relax, man. I just wanted to see what it was like for you to be a giant for a little while."

Adam was still in shock. "But how did you do it? And how do I change back?"

Tyler shrugged. "It's all part of my god powers. And as for changing back, let's just enjoy being a giant for a little while longer, okay?"

Adam was skeptical, but he couldn't deny that being a giant had its advantages. He could see over the crowds at school and reach things that he never could before. But he also struggled to fit into the school's hallways and classrooms, and he could tell that the other students were starting to notice him.

When they arrived at school, everyone acted as if Adam's height was normal, except for Jared and his group of bullies. They seemed scared of Adam now, which made Adam feel both powerful and uncomfortable at the same time.

As the day went on, Adam discovered that being a giant had its ups and downs. He struggled to get through doorways and fit into desks, but he also enjoyed the feeling of being taller than everyone else. He could tell that Tyler was enjoying the situation too, and he couldn't help but wonder what else his friend had in store for him.

After school, Tyler took Adam to a nearby park, where he used his powers to make Adam grow even bigger. Adam felt his body stretching, growing taller and taller until he was towering over the trees.

Adam looked down at Tyler, amazed. "This is incredible. How are you doing this?"

Tyler just grinned. "I'm a god, remember? I can do just about anything."

As the sun began to set, Adam started to feel a little dizzy. He realized that being so tall was starting to take a toll on his body, and he wasn't sure how much longer he could stay like this.

"Tyler," Adam said, his voice shaking. "I think I need to change back. I'm starting to feel weird."

Tyler nodded. "Okay, okay. Let me just...uh, hold on a second."

Tyler looked around, as if he was searching for something. Adam started to panic, wondering if Tyler had lost control of his powers.

But then Tyler snapped his fingers, and suddenly Adam was back to his normal size. He stumbled forward, feeling disoriented and dizzy.

"Whoa," Adam said, taking a deep breath. "That was intense."

Tyler just chuckled. "Yeah, you could say that."

As they walked home, Adam couldn't stop thinking about what had happened. He had spent the day as a giant, and he had discovered that being big had its advantages, but also its downsides. He wasn't sure what Tyler had in store for him next, but he knew that it was going to be something wild and unpredictable.
