Chapter #5Therapy Through Violence by: Unknown
Just to warn you, Tara has had a hard life, so she has a hard time getting along or opening up to anyone. Also she has some anger problems, so it would probably be in your best interest to not piss her off in any way. Perfect, you think to yourself, I already did that last night by stepping on her tail. If Sasha hadn’t been there, she would probably have torn you to shreds.
I had hoped to get her to be nicer with the other girls, but I just never could. Maybe you can succeed where I failed, but it might be better for you to just leave her to herself. I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I did. The last few years I spent here were the best of my life. If you take care of the girls, they’ll take care of you.
Sincerely,
Uncle Derrick
Well, Derrick didn’t need to tell you Tara has anger issues. You could have figured that out for yourself. Yet, you couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for her. Your uncle’s letter said she has had a tough life, perhaps that’s why she alienates everyone, and tries to push them away.
As you head back downstairs, you see Tara laying belly-up in a nice sunny spot on the floor. Her chest and stomach slowly rise and fall with each breath, as she purrs lightly in her sleep. You could see the outline of a smile on her face. She must be having a really good dream.
You couldn’t help but smile as you watched Tara. She’s normally grouchy and scowling, but now she looked so peaceful and content. Step by step, you get closer to Tara, wanting to get a closer look at her. When you are directly beside her, you get down on your knees and lean in close to her.
You don’t know why you’re doing this. Getting this close to Tara, awake or asleep, was just asking for a serious, possibly permanent, injury. But there was something about her like this, something alluring about her in such a calm state, that just made you want to get closer.
Before you can stop yourself, you place your hand on Tara’s trim stomach and gently stroke it. Her purring audibly increases in volume, so you continue petting her belly for a good five minutes, the deep, rumbling sound having an almost hypnotizing effect as Tara’s long, flexible tail lazily swishes from side to side.
But the moment of peace is broken as Tara suddenly opens her eyes and gives off a yowl of surprise as she kicks you square in the chest, sending you sprawling backwards. She leaps to her feet and glares down at you with fire in her eyes. “Don’t you ever touch me again!” She says “The last person who touched me ended up in a body cast!”
You get back up clutching your chest. You really hope that doesn’t leave a mark. It felt like you had just been hit with a cannonball. It could be worse, she could have used her claws. “I’m sorry.” You say “You just looked so peaceful sleeping, I just thought you might enjoy a nice belly-rub”
Tara crosses her arms and scowls. “Why the hell would you think that? You never heard the saying “let sleeping cats lay?” You were about to correct her, but thought better of it. “My uncle left me a note about you.” You say “Told how you had a tough life and all. If you want to talk or anything, I’m here.”
Tara’s eyes widened in surprise. No one had ever said that to her before, but she quickly regains her usual demeanor. “I don’t need anyone to talk to. What I need is to be left alone.” You really want to help her, but she’s too stubborn to listen. Then you get an idea.
“I can tell you have a lot of anger locked up inside.” You say “You need to get it out or it will just eat away at you. I know a good method to release it, but you have to trust me.” Tara snorts. “And what is this method?” She asks sarcastically.
Later…..
“Wretches up ahead!”
“I see ‘em! Ready your chainsaw!”
“Incoming Berserker!”
Turns out your method worked very well. You and Tara had just spent the last three hours releasing her anger with the help of your Xbox 360. Turns out Tara was very good at video games. After kicking your ass in Mortal Kombat and Halo, you had decided to play co-op on Gears of War.
“So are you feeling better?” You ask as you score a headshot on Lambent Locust. “Oh yeah!” Says Tara excitedly “I haven’t had this much fun in years! Eat chainsaw, Rick!” You had told her to pretend the enemies in the game were people she hated. You had no idea who she was talking about, but it was nice to see her so happy.
But what surprised you was when she disemboweled a Grunt and said “Take that Sasha!” You paused the game and stared at her, shocked. “Why do you hate Sasha?” indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
