Inside the old ACME warehouse downtown, four masked men held strong guarding the doors and windows of the old boarded-up structure. Their planned bank robbery had been a success, but alas their getaway had been botched horribly by a passing ambulance. It forced them to turn right instead of left and led them to having an unplanned high-speed chase with the police.
"What are we going to do!" A man in blue mask raged as he remained rooted by the front door, assault rifle in hand.
"We hold them off as long as we can until they offer us a deal." A man in red mask answered from upstairs by the back window.
"And what if they don't offer us a deal? Then what?" A yellow masked thug asked from the back doors.
"Then we wait for an opening and make a break for it." The leader, a man in a black mask holding a revolver spoke. The money they had stolen was in the truck they parked into the building and if an opening presented itself, they could hop in and smash right through the police barricade.
"You call that a plan." Blue nearly shouted. "Did you forget about the giant freak the cops go to when things get too hairy!"
"Yeah!" Yellow chimed in. "If the brat shows up, we're dead. To her these toys of ours are nothing but peashooters."
"I hate to say it, but I think out goose is cooked. Maybe we should just surrender and quite while we're ahead." Red suggested.
"No!" Black shouted, offended by the very idea. "We hold out and make a break for it! We have a god damn armored car!"
Black couldn't give up. Not after he and his boys had come so far. If they quit now, then everything they did was for nothing. No! The best thing to do was force the police to bargain or smash right through when they were worn down enough. Failure was not an option; giant brat be damned.
"ROOOOAAAARRRR!!!"
Speaking of... a loud and inhuman sound ripped through the air. It forced the crooks to cover their ears and guard their faces as all the glass in the warehouse exploded.
"What the hell was that!?"
"Godzilla in town!?"
"It's the brat, isn't it!?"
"Oh no..." Black whispered as dread washed over him. Despite being a criminal, he wasn't stupid. He knew exactly what that roar was. It was the town's resident superhero and there was nothing their tiny guns could do to her. It was over. They were too late. "We're screwed."
"Forget this! I didn't sign on to fight cops or a giant monster! I give up!" Blue shouted.
"Yeah man, I'm tapping out." Yellow agreed.
Red threw his gun down. "Sorry Black, but this is over."
Black reluctantly nodded and dropped his gun. "Damn it. We were so close! I could feel it!"
Were they really close? He didn't honestly know, but the thought would help him sleep better at night. The plan had gone to hell and there was nothing more they could do when faced with the threat of an 160ft menace.
"Come on boys, it's time to face the music." Black sighed. Everyone agreed and walked out of the front doors with their hands raised. Behind the flashing lights and blue uniforms was the monster, poised and ready to strike if need be. Fortunately for her the thugs surrendered without a fight.
All in a day's work for Miako City's resident Kaiju.
