Takato was excited when he saw the new update on his D-Ark. It was something new, something unexpected, that wasn't his partner eating his poor family out of house and home (note: Guilmon does not really do that, but he is a heavy eater). This was the first really interesting thing that had happened since the Runaway Locomon incident a few years ago. It made him antsy just thinking about what the possible update could be.
Was is a upgrade to the map navi? Maybe an improved tracker unit to finding any wild Digimon that appeared in the real world? Could it be a new way of combining cards for a combo breaker or even a way to DNA Digivolve, like how Gatomon and Aquilamon to get Silphymon? The idea of that was far too exciting! The chance to really play around with the new systems, whatever they might be, was something Takato was surprisingly looking forward to. It wasn't like he wanted something to fight or anything, he just wanted something to do. Period.
Things were slow in town around the Winter, not even Digimon wanted to go on wild rampages in the middle of a snowstorm. Unless they're Ice based themselves in which case, they loved doing that, but there just wasn't a lot of them. Crime was low, so no one was out playing superheroes aside from Impmon who was God knows where. And with Winter Break in session, no one was in school either. It was just boring Japan's commercial district at the time.
Takato was snapped out of his retreat of thoughts by the beeping sound on his device. The update was finished! He could hardly wait! But... should he? In fact, as far as he knew, he was the first and possibly only member of the Tamers to get this update. He debated on going to find Rika or Henry to get a better idea of how to proceed, but decided against in favor not being called "goggleheaded dimwit" for a hour or being hearing a two hour lecture on how this whatever it was update must be used with caution.
Instead, he just debated on going down stairs to get Guilmon for this or not.
