Mr. Cake gave his wife a small reassuring smile, before turning back to Bonbon. "Bonbon, the offer is for a custom request for baked goods."
"So bake her," Bonbon answered, snidely. "The law is the law."
"Well then, you go on, see if you can get a guard stupid enough to think your interpretation of the law is correct, and I will appeal that all the way to the Princess herself if you do. And even if the Princess herself orders me to on pain of death, I would sooner die than kill my wife, much less feed her to you. I'm going to give you ten seconds to get your flank out of my shop, because I am a gentlecolt. After that, madam..." At this, Mr. Cake gave his countertop a solid buck - certainly not one that would impress Applejack or Big Mac, but it was a clear threat.
"You'll regret this, Cake!" At this, Bonbon tossed down thirty bits. "Now, I'm ordering you, your wife, AND your assistant. Ten bits a piece. You refuse?"
"Of course I refuse. Take your money and get out of here, now."
"I'll be back, Cake!"
Bonbon stormed out angrily, yelling that the Cakes were swindlers, and looking for a town guard.
