When Harry looked up the Gryffindor table, he saw Ron talking to a Beauxbatons girl. She was sitting where Hermione had been. There was a puff and a pink cloud, and a new girl would appear in those pale blue uniforms. It seemed to be happening every few seconds now, as if it were accelerating.
At least Hermione would enjoy the exchange. The Beauxbatons school was famous for it's high standards, and strict discipline.
There was something odd bothering Harry though. There still seemed to be the same mix of boys and girls in Hogwarts uniforms. There was a building buzz of French accents that was becoming stronger, by the second.
"Er... Ron." he started, trying to distract his friend from the cute girl that had replaced Hermione.
Ron turned with a warning look on his face. A clear look that told Harry he didn't want to be disturbed.
The look didn't last long though, in whuff of displaced air, he was replaced by a Beauxbatons girl. She looked confused for a second, before regaining her composure. Soon she was eating as if nothing had happened.
On hearing a loud noise behind him, Harry turned back to the Slytherin table. It was usually unwise to ignore any noises from that direction. Already there was a swathe of blue uniforms. Exactly where his year would have been sitting. Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, Pansy, all his tormentors were gone, and refined ladies in blue had replaced them, both male and female.
