You wake up in the morning and you know that something is very different. You look around and your confusion grows. It looks like you woke up in a museum! You are in a four-poster bed with a canopy. The furniture in the room looks almost new, but the style is ancient in your view. Something is really off. It take a while, but you realize you don't see any lights. Only kerosene lamps!
You get out of bed and right of way, you find the next difference. You are wearing some kind of feminine night dress! The floor is finished wood planks covered by a throw rug. You try to go out the door, but you find that you can't bring yourself to. In looking for something to put on, the only thing you can find is a closet full of dresses! You are getting frustrated. You need to get dressed!
Suddenly you walk over to a dresser and you don't know why. You begin to take out a slip and change into that. You then put on all kinds of petticoats. Then walking over to the closet. You try not to, but you find yourself putting on one of the dresses! After that, you put on some ridiculously high top shoes that have high heels. You then sit at the vanity and put on a touch of makeup! It gives you a feminine look!
Again, you can't stop yourself as you leave your room, walk down a strange hallway and down some long stairs. You go down to what you know is the dinning room. Somehow, you are not shocked to see your family there, but what is surprising is that your dad is standing there in a dress much like yours. Worse, your mother is in an old style suite with a bow tie, and your sister is there dressed like a boy, only wearing knickers!.
You look at your dad and say, "Mom, what is going on. I mean, mom. I..."
Your dad interrupts, "Don't worry about it Emma. You will find you can only call me mom or Mary. Your 'dad' is Walter, and your 'brother' is now Henry."
You shake your head, "I am not Emma. My name is Emma! I, oh, I see. Do we know what is going on?"
