Not Completely...She Has a Collar

    by: BuddyMac Author IconMail Icon
It was 5:30 am and the only people in the house awake right now was Joan and the dog. No one else would be getting around for a least an hour and a half or two. Joan panicked and rushed toward her room planning to grab some clothes before she was seen. As she approached she her a tinkling noise coming from her neck. She reached up and felt a collar and tags. What the hell! What kind of sick joke is this, she thought as she started to try and take it off. Suddenly, Buster, wearing her nightgown and robe, came out of her room, trotting past Joan and made his way to the kitchen. Stupefied and curious, she followed along, forgetting about her own clothes, still naked, and watched as he walked over to the counter and stood up on his hind legs, grabbed a coffee cup with his mouth and pulled it to the coffee pot. Joan always preset it to have it ready when she woke, and as such was full of hot coffee. Joan was surprised as she watched Buster manage to lift the pot and pour the cup full and put it back without spilling a drop. He then, incredibly, lifted the cup, without spilling it, and took it to the table, sat it in front of the seat that she usually occupied. He pulled out the chair with his teeth, then hopped up and sat down, resting his front legs on the table top and took a cautious lick of the coffee. Things were happening as it normally would for her, except Buster was acting and doing her things as she watched.

Joan couldn't believe what she had just saw her dog do. Without thinking about it, Joan squatted down, resting her bottom on the floor and held her arms down to the floor in front of her. She tilted her head sideways slightly as she continued to watch Buster. Joan licked her lips as she watched Buster lap up another sip of coffee. As this went on, Joan became bored and laid down on her belly; her arms, legs and hips bending in unnatural positions for a human as, for some odd reason, she felt content in waiting on Buster to finish his cup of coffee. Joan felt very thirsty but for some reason she couldn't make herself get up to get a drink.

Joan watched Buster get off the chair, but this time he walked on his hind legs to the counter and carried the cup with his front paws. He poured himself another cup and carried back to the table, set it down, then looked at Joan. He made some soft barking noises and walked over to his water bowl. Joan's eyes widened in surprise and anticipation, as she watched Buster bend down and pick up his bowl with his paw. He carried it over to the sink, turned It on with his free paw, then held it in the water stream, filling it. He then carried it back to its spot and set it down.

Joan had sat up back up on her butt as she watched Buster fill the water bowl and as so as he sat it down she attempted to stand up on her legs, only she couldn't find her balance. She fell back on her hands and feet and instead, trotted over on all fours and quickly stuck her face down to the water and started licking at it, her tongue lengthening slightly to allow her to drink. Buster stood at the table, holding his coffee cup with his paw, watching and waiting. In moments, Joan had lapped up all her water and turned back to Buster.

Joan knew something weird was going on but she could figure out what. Everything seemed to be happening as any other day, only Buster and her seemed to be role reversed. This has to be a dream she thought as she watched Buster bring his coffee cup up to his mouth and take a sip. She knew that couldn't be natural, dogs can't use their paws as hands, but yet she had watched Buster do several things in the last few minutes that he shouldn't be able to do. In her mind, she realized this was when she would let Buster outside to do his thing and she would stand outside, drinking her second cup of coffee and have a smoke.

As she studied Buster, she noticed he was standing easily. His hind legs seemed different, which was allowing this. His fore legs hung differently too, straighter like human arms. She then realized she was sitting strangely. Her legs were bent up next to her torso, but her thighs and knees were beside her chest and her arms were between her feet. She was sitting like a dog. Joan stared up at Buster, watching as he continued to drink on his second cup of coffee. Buster barked some soft woofs, which almost sounded like a name and want to go outside to Joan, which caused her to perk up. She again tried to stand up on her legs, but they wouldn't straighten out fully to allow her. She took a few steps, which turned into a odd kind of hop since her legs would not function properly. She tried to to put her arms down to her side, but they wouldn't bend very far, her hands hung limply from her wrists. Dejected, Joan fell back to all fours and found it much easier to move. Buster had the back door open already and Joan bounced out past him and down the wooden steps into the backyard, while Buster walked to the railing and sat his coffee cup down.
