The rogue decided it was time to take a long vacation with the fortune she had earned over the course of her lifetime. It wasn’t long before Lady Lillian Von Wulfhund was showing up at the spas of Burnuna and the tropical sun. It was fun to go to the small set of islands, she had been there before on the islands and knew them well through all of the previous times had been business and this would hopefully be a lot more pleasure.
No one questioned her status as a noble, has a large fortune helped remove any questions from the minds of people. All they wondered about was how to get more of the money that she let flow. Lillian was very generous with the fortune of her family.
Lillian was instantly welcomed to all of the finest parties and social events. A beautiful woman with long chestnut hair and a pleasing figure was always welcomed to the island and one who had a lot of money was fawned upon. Instinctively she knew that the vast majority of the people just wanted things from her, mostly her money but she loved it.
All of her life she had been the ugly duckling not desired by anyone but the guards. The violence of the streets and a starving childhood had robbed her of much of the beauty she might have had so being desired by so many was pleasing to her especially from the handsome prince. She vaguely remembered the stories of a noble marrying the poor servant girl told to her by her Mother before she passed away leaving her alone in the world.
Prince Ludwig was rich and powerful noble of the Empire who was more than a little handsome and was more than a little interested in the mysterious noblewoman who had arrived here. It wasn’t long before she was talking about marriage with him and he was happy to move the talk forward into a reality.
She had never thought a vacation could changer her life so much and it wasn’t long before Lillian had a grand wedding she had never dreamed of. The former rogue thought about telling her husband the truth but decided a little mystery was important in life. It wasn’t hard for her to settle into the noble class because it turned out she had been preparing for it all of her life.
All of her life she had spent pretending to be other people and nobles were really just better-dressed thieves. Lillian proved that she was more than a trophy for her husband. She knew how to spot when the books were cooked, where to find bandits and pirates and how to spot liars. Those assets and many others proved to the Emperor his son had chosen very well in his bride, he knew the truth of the woman and soon no longer cared. More than one traitor to his empire was taken down thanks to her he efforts and with no hesitation, he handed over the reins of his empire to the pair.
Emperor Ludwig and Empress Lillian ruled for many years together and produced five children, three boys, and a girl. Under their rule, the Empire expanded its border even taking over a kingdom called Dar. The people prospered and became safer than they had ever been before with the Empress having a very special interest in the welfare of the orphaned children of the lands. It wasn’t a bad accomplishment for a woman who had grown up on the streets.
