You and Jane head down to the car to get more stuff for mom. After you had left, mom starts to look through the packages you had brought up. Daniel was also curious. "Remember Daniel, toddlers don't have a say in what they wear." mom told him.
She decided upon a purple blouse and legging set. She took it out of one of the packages and held it up to Daniel. Seeing that it would fit, she then removed the price tags. Daniel was still standing, so mom told Daniel to sit down. Once seated mom told him to lift up one of his legs. He did as told and the first leg of the legging was pulled up his leg to his knee. The legging was made of a soft cotton/lycra blend and was in a pale purple color. She then pulled the other leg up. Now that both legs were up to Daniel's knees, mom indicated that he should stand up and he did so. She then pulled the leggings all the way up to his waist. She then made sure the leggings were smooth from the top of his waist to the bottom of his ankles. You could clearly see the diaper underneath Daniel's leggings. She then told Daniel to raise his arms and pulled the blouse over his head. It descended down past his hips to his upper thighs where it ended in a skirt bottom. The blouse was also in a pale purple which matched the leggings. On the front of the blouse was an animated ladybug with the caption of "Hugglybug" under the graphic. Mom told Daniel to sit again and then she put anklet socks on his feet. He was wearing 'pants' but there was no doubt that this wasn't the clothes a teenage boy would ever wear. "You look cute as a button," mom said and she meant it.
"Now there is going to be alot of changes here. Not just clothes." mom explained to Daniel. But all this furniture has to go too." She didn't mean all of it. The bed would stay but the sheets would be changed to something appropriate for a toddler. There would also be rubber sheets you couldn't see in case of the inevitable leaking diaper. She needed room for a changing table and a diaper pale so Daniel's desk would have to go. Daniel's bookshelf would be replaced with a playpen. (Mom would make sure to tell him that once in the playpen he wouldn't be able to leave without permission.) Daniel's chest of drawers would remain although the contents would change radically and it would be repainted like the rest of the room. In a short time, when all of the furniture had arrived (which mom had already ordered) Daniel's room would be appropriate for a very young girl. She explained what was about to happen in detail.
By this time the next load of packages was brought back up to the room. You and Jane knew better than to wait to get another load. But mom told you to go to the kitchen and get a box of garbage bags. You scampered to get them as Jane left to get another load of packages.
