This is the story of two teenage friends, John and Mary, who one day find themselves going through John's grandmother's old belongings.
"Are you sure we should be going through this stuff?" Mary asked.
"It's fine," John responded. "This is just a bunch of her old hippie stuff from back in the day. She doesn't like to talk about it for some reason, but I heard she was a real party animal back then."
"If you say so," Mary replied.
"Relax Mary, I mean most of this stuff is harmless. Old records, some bell-bottom jeans, and check this out, a lava lamp!"
John pulled the lava lamp out of the cardboard box, only to find it empty.
"What? It's empty? That sucks."
John casually threw it over his shoulder, only to hear the glass break.
"Oops," John said. "Thought it was plastic."
"John," Mary said as she pointed at the lava lamp. "Look!"
A green fog seeped out of the shattered lamp, floating in place momentarily before it drifted towards the two at an unusually fast speed.
