"I...I can come home Friday evening," you said, trying to keep the eagerness from your voice.

You were answered by several seconds of silence. "No..." she finally said, "I think I'll need a little more time. And I have a date with Geoff anyway. How about next weekend?"

You felt a twinge of jealousy resurge. Seeing her with another guy always bothered you, even though you had mostly accepted her as 'Tabitha'. "Okay..." you answered slowly. "If that's what you want. I get of out class around 1 on Friday, so I'll be there late that evening - next week."

"Sure, that sounds good," she responded.

There was another lengthy pause.

"Tim?" she said hesistantly. "I meant what I said. I DO love you. And our relationship will be different from what is has been these last two years. But I honestly don't know what we'll end up with. So don't push, please. Give me time to think."

"Okay, All... I mean, Tabitha," you quickly corrected yourself. "I love you too."

She sighed. "I'm sorry, Tim. I know this is hard for you too. We'll figure things out, I promise."

You heard a beep on the line. "Someone else is calling. Gotta go. See you next week. Bye." She dropped off before you could think of anything else to say.

You hung up the phone and then just stood there for quite awhile, trying to digest the news you'd just been given. While you weren't sure how it would be for you to be with Allison when you saw her again in your sister's body, at the moment you longed for her more than anything in the world. This could be the answer to your prayers, you thought - a second chance with the woman you loved.
