" Yes, of course I did! Stranger danger alert! What, did you expect me to just hop into some stranger's limo?" There is silents on the other end.

"Dad?" he clears his throat. " now, kiddo I-"

I cut him off and press him harder. " is that what you expected?!"

He breathes out in hesitation. " of course not. I will see you when I get home. Bye."
With that he hangs up.
