in the viking tribes theres a tradition to abandon weak children but what if that changed

normally once the dragons were spotted one Viking had to shout to wake everyone else up and as Vikings are quite heavy sleepers but if there was say a bell that they could ring once they spotted a dragon it would get everyone up a lot quicker like an alarm.
