Chapter #7

Trapped in Direopolis

    by: Unknown
The centaur lady labels the box to a place called Direopolis and then lets out a sigh before she walks out to find a harpy girl dressed as a postal carrier. The harpy from the looks of it was a harpy who resembled a bird of paradise harpy with bright red, black, blue and gold feathers. She was also enormously fat which made it a surprise that she could still fly. The centaur walked up and handed the harpy the package. “Here, Olivia,” says the centauress. “As long as you’re heading back to your home town, take this package with you. We have a strict policy here about sending our carriers into hazardous areas.” The harpy gave a scoff. “Excuse me,” she says. “That’s an insult. Why does everyone think that Direopolis is full of psychopaths. We’re just quirky.” The centaur rolls her eyes. “This coming from a woman who surfs using two boards instead of one and whose sister is a teacher who dresses like a masked wrestler? Do us a favor, Ringmoore and take this back where you came from. You did say that you were a postal carrier back in Direopolis, right?” Olivia rolls her eyes and takes your package into her talons before flying away.

You were now very afraid of where you were headed. You had heard some bad things about Direopolis. Cadence warned you that all of the monsters who lived in Direopolis were practically insane. Every one of them had one eccentric quirk or another. You try to bang on the walls of the package but then you remember, you don’t know the harpy who is carrying you back to Direopolis. For all you know she might like to chomp on humans. You begin to wonder who the package is meant for when Olivia reads the name. “Cleopatra Round,” she reads. “Cool. Maybe I’ll get some grub out of this. Patty’s Direopolis’s best cook.” Your eyes poke out of your head. “Did she say cook?” you ask yourself. You’re more nervous than ever. What if whoever gets this package is a predatory monster who likes to cook humans. Now, you begin to think. From the monsters you knew alone, their names were a dead giveaway to their species. Cleopatra Round was most likely a mummy and the only mummy you knew was a human hating tyrant. This was not looking good. Out of curiosity, you decide to look back to see exactly what was in the package. It looked like a cookbook of some kind. You look closely and you’re more horrified than ever. It was a cookbook for sushi. Cleopatra Round was no doubt planning to chop some humans up and serve them with a side of fish and rice. You really hope that Cleopatra Round had very bad eyesight and doesn’t spot you.

After 2 hours, Olivia arrives in Direopolis. You can’t see it but she lands in front of a large and fancy looking house with Egyptian statues outside along with a swimming pool. No doubt it was where Cleopatra Round lived. Olivia knocks on the door and you hear it open before hearing a contralto voice. “Olivia? Pinky said you were in Horrorville for the Terrordale surfing competition.” “Just got back,” says Olivia. “Brought home the silver. Somebody I knew at the post office wanted me to bring this to you, Patty.” “Thanks. I’ll see you at the ball.” “Patty?” you think to yourself. “I guess Cleopatra Round prefers to go by a nickname.” You then gasp as Cleopatra Round starts to walk up to a table to place the package down. From the sounds of her footsteps she particularly large and heavy. You guess she would weigh a few tons if she was human-sized. That was a bad sign. A heavy chef with sushi on the mind.” Then you hear a male voice. “Looks like that cookbook finally came. I can’t believe you’re going through with it, Patty.” “Blame your mother, Wes,” says Patty again. “She was the one who suggested that we add sushi to the menu.”

You then feel tremors. There was another monster in the room who was just as heavy as Patty. The voice that comes from that other monster was very light and bubbly like a teenaged goth girl. “Really? We already serve pizza, burgers, donuts, sundaes, pancakes and panini.” You give a gulp and become more worried. “I thought you’d be supportive, Salli,” says Patty as she takes out a letter opener. “You like your meat raw.” You begin to sweat. Forget Patty. You were more afraid of Salli. Whatever monster she was, she sounded like she liked to eat humans alive. Then you hear a voice that oddly sounds as if you heard it before. “It can’t be helped, Patty. Mom’s always been a huge piscivore. One time she swallowed a submarine by mistake.” You recognized that voice. It was the voice of Corona Poe, a minotaur actress who was well known throughout the monster world. From what you know, Corona is a rather fat copper-furred and black-haired minotaur resembling a bespectacled bison. You remember one of Cadence’s books was made into a movie and Corona was the leading lady. She must either live in Direopolis or she was visiting her in-laws. You then remember that Corona was strictly against the idea of monsters eating humans and breathe a sigh of relief. Then you realize that Corona’s associates might not share her dietary views. Patty has begun to cut through the tape on the box and you hide behind the cookbook hoping that she doesn’t see you and try to eat you. Light enters the box and you see for yourself what kind of monsters were in the room.

Besides Corona there were two of them. The first of them who you guessed was Patty was an enormous pink-skinned and red-haired werehippopotamus with a blue tattoo of a pyramid over one of her eyes. “She’s a werehippo?” you think to yourself. “She’s huge. I’ll bet she’s even bigger than Petra.” Then you turn and see who you guessed was Salli. Salli was a vanilla-skinned loxodon, a monster resembling a humanoid elephant, in her case an Asian elephant. She had long black hair and dark yet colorful eyeliner and lipstick like a goth girl. However, to your surprise, it looks like she has fangs inside the nostrils of her trunk and in her mouth. “Huh? Loxodons don’t have fangs?” Then you realize something strange about these giant women. From the looks of it, they were both wearing costumes. Patty was wearing a skin tight Fox Xanatos costume while Salli from her face makeup and split colored costume with a transparent skirt was dressed as a harlequin. Then you look and notice that there are two humans with these giant ladies. On Patty’s shoulder was a bespectacled and bearded young man dressed like a mummy and on the end of Salli’s trunk was a pale blonde young man dressed as a vampire. Neither looked afraid of either giantess. Then you remembered something. You heard that Corona Poe had three human stepbrothers. Those must’ve been them and Salli and Patty must’ve been their wives. Guess they didn’t eat humans here after all. That was a relief. You look and see that Corona herself was wearing a pink and white outfit with a tiara that clearly meant to make her resemble the Queen of Hearts. Her bright hair was wrapped up in a bun.

You then hear more stomping as another giant woman enters the room. This one is a huge and fat blonde wereboar with brown skin that almost looked like chocolate. However, what was surprising was that this wereboar had leather wings like those of a bat. She was dressed up like a cowgirl with a cow’s skull on the brim of her hat. On the boar woman’s shoulder was a muscular blonde-haired human man who looked younger than the other two and was dressed like a Frankenstein monster. Apparently another of Corona’s brothers. “I can’t wait to go to the big shindig.” says the third brother. “It isn’t a shindig, Norman,” says Wes. “Vienna has invited the town to a charity costume ball.” Pam gives a snort. “I’m not an idiot, Wes. I know it’s a fancy party at Vienna’s place. I just don’t understand why that sister of yours has to go with us.” “Because we agreed to be Corona’s entourage for the night, Pam.” Says Salli. “Not me.” Snorts Pam. Patty gives a scoff. “You were outvoted 2 to 1. Can’t you two get along for just one night?” Pam gives a pout. “What is the charity for anyway.” “To build bigger libraries for our schools to increase literacy.” Says Wes. Pam gives a confused look. “Isn’t that against the law? There’s too much literacy in the world already. That’s why there’s so much garbage in the ocean.” “Not littering, stupid,” says Corona. “Literacy. Something that you obviously would know nothing about.”

Pam gives an angry snort and stomps her foot like an angry child. This sends you up into the air and you fall screaming down until you land in between Corona’s breasts. You grunt and begin to sink down and from the looks of it, Corona didn’t even feel you given the look on her face. She was rolling her eyes at Pam’s actions. “You are so primeval, Pam. What my youngest brother sees in you, I’ll never know.” Salli’s husband lets out a sigh. “Don’t mind them, Allen,” says Salli. “They’re be in a better mood during the festivities.” Patty gives a sigh. “Well, we better get going. The sun just went down. Vienna’s costume ball awaits.” All four giant women stomp out the door with you as an unknown and unwilling tagalong. You struggle but Corona’s body is too thick. All you can do is struggle as all four sisters-in-law make their way to their friend’s place.
