Chapter #28
Paradise in the sky
by: A former member
Chastity looked over her domain, the huge castle in the cliff, the peasant village and really she was temped just to destroy it. It was so... mundane. Her holy majesty deserved something more in line with her own thoughts, something that these poor helpless mortals really could never hope to accomplish. Well, she guessed as their god she should get on bringing them to the promised land.
She let herself rise in the air, laying sideways as if on an invisible couch as the city below her shrank into cluttered lines and then an almost map like spreading of sprawl. She looked around at her new elevation and took off, a trail of golden light in her wake before she daintily balanced herself on a distant mountain top. The cold wind steamed off her warm, bronze skin as she observed the now seemingly speck of a castle city so far below.
"Okay then. First off, lets get some real estate in here." She waved her hands in a beckoning motion and clouds rolled in just under her perch. It was a little mesmerizing, like a slow moving ocean half invisible and half made of cotton. She swirled a finger and made this ocean in the sky spin about until it looked a bit more interesting... and then she lifted up her palm and tore the city from the ground.
She could hear all their little screams and all the prayers and pleading clear as day and it just made her giggle. It was so temping to make them scream louder, cower in her presence like they should. She'd only have to curl her fingers and the land so far away would be crushed by an invisible hand. Oh, that was such a fun thought! She hoped they realized how kind she was by letting them live, and even help found her own personal kingdom. So instead of curling her finger, she spread them out and split the city into sections, letting only a few of the clumsy ones fall off into the sky.
With her scepter as a pointer she lead the pieces to different clouds, planting them in the cotton-y mass before letting them shoot out a web work of walking paths. She had to do it a few times, creating farming land so she didn't have to do everything for them, then calling a great storming thunderhead to put her temple in. The castle kingdom was really starting to come together in a wide pattern of heights and width. Rivers of rain ran in every direction and... well, she really needed to upgrade the architecture. Those pathetic homes were not fit for her kingdom. In their place she rose up towering golden spires, the church became the grandest of all structures with a dozen lance-like towers and what she would have personally described as luxury apartments replaced the motley little houses.
"Perfect! My golden city in the clouds."
She still tugged and tweaked a few things, creating skyscrapers in the sky and making each one a little more personalized. Of course she had a lot more room than she had people now, the newly enhanced castle was larger than the entire previous city. She was sure she'd need the space as her populace grew.
Chastity decided after all her good work, it was time to reward herself... and she had plenty of ideas how that could happen.
