A New Challenger Appears

"Your words, though fueled by greed and vengeance, do have an air of truth to them," The Succubus Queen told Lydia. "The interloper Sari must be punished for her arrogance. But I would be a fool to entrust the task to someone who has already been bested by her. Why give you power when I can choose another?"

Lydia didn't understand. "But who else can-"

And like that, Lydia's spirit was expelled from the Succubus Queen's presence, jolting her consciousness back into her own diminished body. She was still in a cage, and that traitor Sari still towered over her.

But something was happening, now. Lydia could practically taste the dark energies that were pouring forth from the pit, empowering and transforming one of her companions. But who?
