Tails landed safely on Sonic's arm. Sonic didn't seem to notice either. Tails checked Sonic's face to measure his amount of time. It was red, already beginning to change to purple. Tails rushed over to Sonic's ears. "Sonic, please, breathe. Y-you're scaring me. I-I don't what to do! I-I just didn't expect to wake up like that! P-please, breathe!! Sonic!!!" Tails begged, his tension and panic echoing in his tone. Sonic gasped for air, but coughed it all out. "SONIC!!!!!!!!" Tails screamed, scared half to death that Sonic would actually die because of his reaction. Sonic wheezed and coughed slightly. "Sonic, I'm so sorry!!!!! I didn't mean to make you so upset!!! I didn't know what to do!! I didn't mean for this to happen! Sonic…I…" And with that, Tails passed out. The stress had been too much for him to bear. And the guilt was overwhelming.
Sonic's breathing was settling down as he listened to Tails's attempt to calm him down. He had some trouble though, and when Tails passed out, it quickly made him realize that he had no choice but to suck it up and try to make it up to Tails. He took slow breaths, holding down the pain enough to breathe out instead of choking. He gently picked the small fox up and pulled him into a hug. "Sleep tight, lil' bro." he murmured, running a finger down Tails's head and back gently. And with that, sleep overtook him and he fell asleep on the couch.
