That evening, Sonic and Tails had worked out how to make sure Tails had somewhere to sleep. An hour or so after they had made the bed large enough for Tails, Sonic was sitting on Tails's shoe, looking very content. "Sonic, what are you doing?" Tails asked finally.
"Watching the sunset. It's a beautiful one, ain't it, Tails?" Sonic asked, sounding pleased.
"Yeah, but normally this is about the time you run around until you're tired."
"Well, that's why I'm not running. I don't wanna miss it." Sonic sighed. Tails picked him up. "What?"
"I was thinking, maybe, we could watch it together." Sonic smiled in that older brother way and nodded. Tails set Sonic on his knee and, for several minutes, they watched the sun set. "It's a nice evening."
"Hey, Tails, about earlier…I'm really glad you helped me out. I…I honestly wouldn't've been able to beat it on my own." Sonic admitted.
"Hey, you woulda found some way to beat it. You always do."
"It was too thick! I couldn't get through it!"
"Okay, okay. We can talk about it tomorrow. We both need sleep. Alright?"
