"Hey, wait!"Betty's thundering voice boomed right as you were about to leave through the human-sized down near the check-out counter. A massive wall of splotched black and white slammed down in front of you to keep you from walking any further, Betty's pinky finger. You turned around to look at her, and she nervously drew her finger back, a grin of uncertainty and forced nonchalant on her face."What's up, Betty?"You ask her.
"Ah was uh..wonderin' if'n ya'll had any plans tonight."
You shrugged."Not really. I was gonna head home and maybe watch some tv, eat some snacks I just bought."
"If um...after my shift, maybe we could...spend some time together?"
Did Betty just ask you out on a date? You had known her for a good while, and mostly considered her a friend. She was roughly around your age, or at least, you think she was. Anthros lived so much longer than humans. You had considered her nice and cute, but had never had 'datable' come across your mind. A human-anthro relationship wasn't uncommon, and it certainly wasn't looked down upon, but the odd thought never came to you until now.
"Well, uh..."You open your mouth to speak, Betty's eyes pleadingly looking down at you. You wondered what she saw? Obviously, it wasn't in the looks department, seeing as you were too small for her to properly make out, a mere mite of dust that could be swept away with the slightest of movements from her. But maybe it was the friendship with her that started it, our your words? You had no idea.
