Looks like Evie feels the need to, anyway

Evie looks up to see whoever yelled out. She sees a figure on top of a near by hill completely covered in think black gear, while also holding a long thin sword. The mysterious runs toward Evie, sword drawn, to avenge the slain giraffe girl.

Despite Evie's limited brain functionality as a zombie, she sees this as a time to run away.
