Chapter #6

Laura casts an insidious spell from the book

    by: Unknown
Laura finishes an incantation and all is momentarily silent. You begin to think perhaps the spell failed, but a sudden creaking under your bed fills you with unease.

You crane your neck, looking over your shoulder at your bed and see a swarm of miniature humanoids pouring forth, garbed in drab apparel, their greenish faces twisted into permanent masks of mischief: imps!

You struggle pointlessly as you recall all you've heard about the tiny monsters; their appetite for trouble-making is insatiable whether it be tripping people up, or stealing small items, or - your eyes go wide with terror - tickling humans for their tears of laughter!

The monsters spread over your room, grabbing up laces from your shoes, neckties, long socks; you watch terrified and slightly confused.

Unexpectedly, to you anyway, the magic pinning you to the door relents and you drop to the floor with a thud, stunning you for fractions of a second, but that's all the time the imps need.

Laura squeals with delight, clapping her hands together as the creatures nimbly wash over you in a blur of coiling laces and silk!

"Laura please, not this!" You beg, feeling the imps drawing your feet up into a stringent hogtie. "These things will be at it all night, I'll never survive!"

"Oh stop that, you baby," Laura says, pouting. "Imps have never tickled anyone to death ... that I'm aware of at least."

"But you already tickled me, you won! I learned my lesson, okay!" You become desperate as one of the imps on your back begins sliding one of your school ties down your face. "Laura! Laura! Wait, I prmmMMmppphhh! Nrmmma!"

Laura chuckles as the imp tugs the tie between your teeth and knots it tightly in place.

"I'm sorry Kevin, I have no idea what you're saying." She teases. "Any way I need to get to bed. It's late and we both have to be up for Elemental Magics class early in the morning."

You groan at the thought of having to tackle EM, one of the hardest classes you have, with one of the sternest professors, after spending an entire night tickle tortured by imps!

"Well, I'll see you then!" Laura chirps, bounding happily out of your dorm and closing the door behind you.

You struggle and strain hard, but the imps' restraints are unyielding! You feel several of the monsters weaving strings around your feet and toes, tying them into total immobility, which tickles something fierce in itself, eliciting wild, muffled laughter that only seems to drive the imps into a mirthful frenzy!

Then the monsters begin in earnest: scores of agile little fingers savagely tickling the soles of your feet! You scream with laughter, and squirm feebly (as there's literally nothing else you can do), as the imps concentrate everything they have on your feet, whooping and hollering in a chorus of tiny voices. As your eyes fill with tears, an imp near your face daubs them with a small cloth, wringing it out into a little flask with a grin.

This goes on for what seems like eternity, you laugh until you are hoarse and the room spins deliriously around you. The imps give you breaks every 20 minutes or so, but other than that, they tickle your feet all night long, filling several of their flasks with your tears.

But as the first light of dawn streams in through your window, the horrid little things relent for good, slapping you on the backside and thighs one-by-one, as they retreat back under the bed, returning to their own plane.

But the little fiends don't bother to untie you! You're totally exhausted, after an entire night of sleepless tickling, and still soundly hogtied and class is about to start! You'll catch hell for being late, or missing class altogether, but you're so tired you almost don't even care at the moment.

Somehow you manage to loosen one of the knots binding your wrists after several determined minutes; if you work at it, you could be untied in under a half hour, you think. You'll be late for class, sure, but you may not miss it entirely!
