Okay, so we're not going with the Stork's delivery team thing that could have involved vore and/or unbirth to produce perfect babies for each family.
How about these:
1. We've discovered away to open a portal to another reality. Some where humans don't exist, some where humans still do and may not even be the ruling species. The possibilities of choosing this selection could open up all kinds of possibilities. And the person or person(s) traveling there, are most likely gonna be consumed in some shape or form.
2.Witches and Wizards exist. Some are good, some are bad. No, they are not like the fairy tales with ugly faces, long beards or warts. They look like regular human beings, and the only thing that gives them away is performing actual magic, sometimes with wands to focus it more, and are not doing not cheep parlor tricks. This is not Harry Potter. There's no dark lord after a young wizard's life. Just basic wizards and witches behaving much like regular non-magical humans. There could be a witch out there who wants to consume someone else. Could be oral vore, could be anal, could be unbirth. Could be breast vore for all we know, we'll have to get to that detail later.
3. Alternate planet portal travel. Scientists have found a way to open portals that are habitable for our species'. This could be the greatest way to set up a way to expand our civilization, into a multi-planet race, and conventional rocket space travel will be a thing of ancient travel. But, before our kind can expand into the cosmos, with this new form of instant travel, teams need to be sent to these planets to record the indigenous species' of those alternate habitable planets. Can't send an entire colony of humans to an unknown ecosystem without first investigating it. Though, on one of these planet, the one(s) sent to investigate, well, if it's more than one, there's the possibility, that most, if not all..... may not make it back to Earth to report their findings. Cause they may find themselves in the belly of the creature(s) that live on that planet, be they the level of human intellect, higher intellect, or lower intelect, they'll be in the belly in one form or another, be it a trip to the stomach, a trip to their baby maker, heck if they're like mammals, they could become nothing but milk for the creatures' young if consumed by the teat. You decide what the person or team encounters once we get to the point they're on the planet.
Or we can travel somewhere else that you can think of.
