Remembering and admitting

Two figures lay intertwined within a plush apartment set in a tower over the Silversun Strip. Arms and legs were tangled together as the two held each other close, and the covers were tossed and kicked aside, both savoring the cool air drifting across their glistening sweat soaked bodies. One was the blue-skinned Liara T’Soni, and curled up beside her was the pale-skinned and red-headed Serah Shepard, a Spectre and the hero of the galaxy after breaking the eon long cycle of growth and extermination by the Reapers. Liara still thought back to when she was forced to leave Serah during the final push towards the Conduit and the strange mix of fear and joy when there was no contact with after the Commander was able fire the Crucible and stop the Reaper attacks. She also thought of how she nearly wept with relief when crews sent to the Citadel to find any possible survivors came across Shepard still stubbornly clinging to life; albeit barely. Since then Liara had stayed with her love through Serah’s lengthy recuperation from the injuries sustained through the Battle of Earth and beyond. Once recovered, the two had spent a great deal of time together, reveling in the relative peace that had come to the galaxy and the chance to relax. The Normandy and its crew – including the gallant Commander – were still regularly called into action, but this happened far less often than before, and Liara had been spending less time overseeing the information network as the Shadow Broker – thanks in large part to Feron and some upgrades made to Glyph – both of which resulted in Serah and Liara having quite a bit more free time than either were used to.

This brought the Asari’s wandering mind back to the present: her body pressed tight up against her heroic lover, who wore naught but a contented smile as she dozed after another marathon lovemaking session with Liara. Beneath her arm, Liara could feel Serah’s breathing, slow and deep. Liara could also feel how her body was showing further results from her less active lifestyle that didn’t often rely on military rations. Before, she was trim and slender, but now sported a small but noticeable layer of fat across her whole body, the softness conforming slightly to the trim and firm frame of Serah. The Asari wasn’t exactly too sure about her weight, but Shepard oddly enough certainly didn’t seem to mind at all though. As she thought of this, an idea that had come to her before and dismissed just as repeatedly returned yet again: a cautious wonder that maybe the great Commander Shepard actually maybe preferred a little meat on her lover. Remembering the feelings of Serah fondling Liara’s slightly more fleshy breasts, and her hand snaking about to grope the meatier blue ass behind sent a pleasant shiver down the Asari’s spine.

Liara was too distracted with her thoughts till “Couldn’t sleep?” came sleepily from right next to her before a pair of soft, full, and pouty lips were pressed against her own lips, breaking her line of thought again.

As the kiss broke, Shepard scooted back just a short distance, as she tenderly caressed Liara’s head crests.

“Sorry, Serah, did I wake you?” a familiar heat creeping into her cheeks.

Shepard gave a slight nod of the head in response, “It’s no trouble, but what’s up?” moving her head down to Liara’s cheek.

A sigh escaped Liara before she went ahead and blurted it out, “I’ve been thinking about a lot of things, but I keep coming back to my weight.” To illustrate, she reached down and gripped what she could of her belly.

“Yes about that,” Serah said, a blush coloring her cheeks as well as the last traces of sleep were dispelled, “I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that, but I’ve been having some trouble finding how to admit it. Since you brought it up though...”

Liara’s mouth went dry and her mind whirled with possibilities, all of them various shades of bad news, as Shepard struggled to come up with the right words. The Commander had almost never been caught tongue tied, so Liara could only assume that it must be something really terrible for this to happen.

“Liara…the truth is…” as she run her fingers down Liara’s spine, the Asari felt a familiar tingle spreading from the touch, a sign that her human lover was using her a tiny amount of her biotics, something both had started doing to stimulate each other, which only further confused Liara.

Eventually Serah seemed to figure how she was going to say what was on her mind, and that proved to not quite be what Liara’s panicked mind had been expecting at the moment.
