This choice: Cut to after the duel. Does Yuya still remember? • Go Back...Chapter #5Yuya's New Situation. by: Eliott   The aftermath of this duel was quite unexpected. Through skillful use of his new Pendulum Monsters, Yuya was able to defeat Strong Ishijima in a single attack, silencing the stadium. The stunned audience did not quite know what to make of this sudden event, given how Strong Ishijima was not only a pro duelist, but also the Champion.
True, he had pulled out some strange new summon that nobody had ever heard of, but this was not exactly out of order. It was rare for a duelist to use anything other than Tributes, as only the most skilled or elite duelists even had the cards required to use other types, much less successfully. The crowd finally went wild as they accepted this, willing to see more of the amazing Pendulum Summon he had performed.
And true, maybe his swinging pendulum had helped get the audience to feel more okay with this situation, too.
Not long after, Yuya and Yuzu held a Pendulum Summon presentation. Ayu was standing as close to the glass as possible, her face almost glued to it. Futoshi was nearby, also watching, but without this much interest.
"Come on, come on..." she muttered, her eyes no longer so blank but her mind still a little fuzzy from the previous Pendulum Summon. When Yuya set up the scales with his Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and his Magician of Chronomancy, her smile only grew larger, her eyes taking in the full light of the shining pendulum in the sky. A new heat filled her, flowing all the way through to her heart, and also... "It's so pretty..."
"Is it?" Futoshi asked, looking back at her. She seemed a little out of it, to be honest... "I know it looks cool, but"
Whatever he was going to say, the portly boy fell silent as the light did not fully emerge; the monsters Yuya tried to summon, for some reason, did not come out. Ayu stared at the scene, eyes widening even more than before, her jaw slowly falling.
On his side, Yuya just stared at his cards, not sure why the Pendulum Summon hadn't worked. Was it because he wasn't in enough danger yet?
Not a minute later, he was lying on the ground, completely defeated by Yuzu's Prodigy Mozart. The Action Field faded around them, much to the audience's disappointment. Ayu in particular didn't know how she felt, her mind lacking that blank feeling that felt so good earlier.
She didn't get a chance to say anything, however, as the audience proceeded to tell Yuya off for his failures, leaving shortly after. Only their small group was left, with the addition of Tatsuya, a new fan of Yuya's.
The plans were set; starting the next day, Yuya would begin a new training regimen, until he finally mastered the use of Pendulum Summons. Due to various reasons, however, everyone had to leave at once, be it due to the setting sun or, in Yuzu's case, having to help her father close You Show Duel School for the day. This left the teen alone in the Duel Arena, lost in his thoughts.
Well. Almost alone...
"Big brother Yuya!" Ayu suddenly declared, wrapping her arms around his legs from behind, just as he had thought about walking away. The poor redhead nearly tripped, as he felt the sudden weight, and turned back.
"H-hi, Ayu," he stammered, a bit confused. She wasn't normally this affectionate towards him; true, she was friendly, but she preferred to hang out with Yuzu more. A girl thing, he had guessed, but nothing that merited his pants being tugged like this.
"Your Pendulum Summon before was sooooo cool..." she said, before squealing. "Oops! I said it! I totally said it!" She was pulling harder, now, much to his unnerving. "I really liked it!"
"Y-yeah, I know you did, but..." Was it him, or Ayu was trying to climb on him? "Well, you know, I still need to practice..."
"And those new cards! They're so cool!" she added, squealing again. "That white magician looked soooooo awesome! And that black magician looked a bit scary, but he had a cool ability too!" The way she was pulling on him, his belt was having difficulties handling the strain. "Can you summon them? Please? Pretty pleeeeease?"
"I-I don't know, Ayu, I..." he stammered, managing to take a step back, barely keeping his balance as it was.
Heh. Someone is Mr. Popularity.
Don't make jokes. He needs to summon us, before it's too late.
True, but can he even listen to us?
