You didnt want to lose your job this quickly. Something had set your boss off on a bad side this morning which explained how you got fired so quickly.
Taking a chance, you type into the box.
'Keep my job'
Then you pressed enter. A loading box appeared and then an error occured.
"Error code 889x3652: Subject currently has no career ocupation. Most recent job ended at 9:01am (30 seconds ago)
"Thats werid - how could this program know I got fired only thirty seconds ago?' You thought. You decided to change what you had put into the dialogue box.
'Keep previous job'
Then you pressed enter. The same loading box came back up and there was an almost instantaneous flash of light which lasted nanoseconds. Turning around behind you, you saw your boss approaching from his office down the hallway so you quickly turned back to the dialog box.
"Complete"
Rather than risking losing your job twice in two minutes, you quickly lowered the program to the task bar.
"Here Mike" Your boss said, walking into your cubicle and not seeming to notice that you apparently no longer worked here. "The results from the new server installation. Apparently Gillette isnt satisfied with something or-... whatever. A little beyond my technical knowledge. She's given you a report to review and deal with"
"Uhh... thanks?" You said.
It must have worked. No way you would have gotten that report if you were actually fired three minutes ago.
"Just get it done as soon as possible. Our clients don't like being offline for so long" He said, walking out of the cubicle to go deal with someone else.
Quickly glancing at the report, Gillette wanted you to go fix the old network router in C-Block... a good five minutes away from your desk. You could take your Ipad with you and use the program remotely on your way over since you had internet on it, or you could stay in your cubicle and risk using it while in sight of your boss and other nosy co-workers.
