This choice: She finds something amazing. • Go Back... Liz sighed as she locked up her car and hurried into work. It wasn't often she was late, in fact she couldn't remember the last time she was. But her morning had been 'hectic' at home, an argument with her husband to start with, and now her sore knee was giving her a little grief. "Gonna be one of those days" she grumbled as she made her way upstairs and put her purse and jacket in her personal locker.
"Morning Liz!" Elizabeth suddenly greeted her, glancing at her watch.
"Oh hi, I'm so sorry I'm late, I'm having a bad morning" Liz apologized, as she adjusted her bra strap. "Eric was being an asshole!" she explained. "Anyway, I'm here now, raring to go" she chuckled, sounding a tad sarcastic.
"Don't worry poppet, we've all been there" Elizabeth smiled, then she proceeded to tell Liz what she wanted doing around the shop for the day. There was some new shelving to be put up and stocked with merchandise, a window display to change and the warehouse downstairs needed tidying. Liz just let out another, subdued sigh. She could tell it was going to be a a busy day, more so than usual. "I've got Steven in early to help you with the fixturing and the window display, and Natalie and Helen will be starting on the warehouse" Elizabeth said, as she then led Liz into her office.
"Sounds good" Liz replied. "Putting that shelving up can be heavy work, always good to have a bloke on standby" she nodded.
"That was my thinking" Elizabeth said, as she sat behind her desk and crossed her shapely legs. She then proceeded to inform Liz of the brief plans for the rest of the week, which took about 10 minutes. Liz was then 'dismissed' and she went down to start work, where Steven was waiting for her. "Hey luv" he greeted her with a warm smile.
"Morning!" Liz answered. "Hope you're ready for some work, we've got a lot to do" she then muttered.
"Always!" Steven said, smiling at her.
The two then got down to constructing the new shelving on the Seasonal aisle, which they had to block off to customers temporarily. All the while Liz found herself unable to focus 100%, she was too busy thinking about her husband. That feeling was aggravated by her inability to lift the heavy shelves. "Fucking hell!" she grumbled to herself quietly, breaking off from work momentarily.
"You okay?" Steven asked in a concerned tone.
"Yeah I'm fine, stop worrying!" Liz snapped, before turning and smiling at him. "I'm okay, thank you!" she said. Just then Liz experienced a 'dizzy spell' and she had to grab hold of a shelf for support. Luckily the feeling went off after a couple of minutes, but she could hear faint whispers in her head... which soon dispersed. She couldn't put her finger on what it was, but she felt peculiar all of a sudden. Everything seemed the same... yet it wasn't somehow.
